Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur offers admission to its Post Graduate Program (PGP) programme on the basis of CAT exam. Candidates qualifying the minimum CAT Cutoff i.e. 90 percentile, will be called for WAT (Written Ability Test) and PI (Personal Interview). CAT 2019 will be held on November 24 through online (computer based) mode.

While 60% weightage is given to CAT Result, 30% weightage is given to the personal interviews and 10% to WAT. For foreign nationals, GMAT Score (minimum score of 670) is also accepted. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of performance in CAT, selection rounds, academic record and relevant work experience. 


IIM Kashipur Eligibility Criteria

A candidate fulfilling the below conditions will be eligible for admission in IIM Kashipur:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks
  • For reserved category candidates, the minumum marks required are 45%
  • In case the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks, the conversion of grades/CGPA to percentage of marks would be based on the procedure certified by the university/ institution from where they have obtained the bachelor’s degree.
  • Candidates still studying in their final year/ awaiting result, can apply

IIM Kashipur CAT Previous Year Cutoff

This is the Stage 1 of IIM Kashipur selection process. Candidates clearing the minimum CAT Cutoffas given below, will appear for WAT and PI:

NOTE: IIM Kashipur Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be called for WAT & PI process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for WAT & PI category-wise, then the overall, as well as section-wise minimum score, would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.

IIM Kashipur Selection Criteria

Stage 2 of admission in IIM Kashipur involves 2 phases,

  1. WAT and PI

The following marks will be assigned to WAT and PI exam:

In the second phase, marks will be calculated on the basis of below criteria:

Note: The following will not be considered as work experience – Apprenticeship, Article ship, Internship, etc. As these form an integral part of a course study.

For the generation of Merit List, on various components, weights are assigned. The following table displays academic disciplines eligible for diversity factor marks for PGP.

2 Commerce/Economics: Accountancy, Auditing, Banking, Business Mathematics, Business Organization, Economics, Economic Development and Planning, Public Administration, Public Finance, Secretarial Practices etc.

The grand total will be used to rank students according to the merit list. It will include the total of both the stages:

  1. WAT and PI
  2. Shortlist Total

IIM Kashipur Selection Criteria for Foreign Nationals

Indian and foreign nationals living, working or studying outside India for a period of 18 months (continuous stay overseas) are eligible to apply. Their merit list will be prepared on the factors given below:

IIM Kashipur Reservation Policy

IIM Kashipur will follow the Government of India policy on reservations for:

  • Schedule Caste (SC)- 15%
  • Schedule Tribes (ST)- 7.5%
  • Non-Creamy Other Backward Class (NC-OBC)- 47%
  • PWD (Person with Disability)- 3%
