Courses Offered by IIMs through CAT

Applicants need to score high in CAT 2020 to land in one of the IIMs. It is recognized as the most difficult management entrance test since participants are required to clear not only the cut off percentile but also the sectional cut off.

IIM Bangalore Certificate Course on Advanced Corporate Strategy

MHRD learning platform SWAYAM has online certificate course by IIM Professors on Advanced Corporate Strategy. Its a postgraduate level course taught by Dr Srinivasan doctoral degree holder from IIM Ahmedabad and Dr. Sai Yayavaram. The course will end on October 31, 2020 and an online examination for the same will be conducted on November 15, 2020.

Certificate can be recieved in case candidates obtin more than 40 % marks in the exam.

IIM Trichy Executive MBA course Online

Due to boundations emerged out of Coronavirus across the nation, IIM Trichy has decided to conduct Executive MBA program online. The institute will also conduct online examinations as remote proctored Internet Based Test. E-books are also available to prepare and study for the courses.

The various programs offered by the reputed IIMs differs based on the course duration, work experience, and specialization. Some courses are meant only for working professionals that have more than 4 years worth of work experience. The differences between each of these programs are given below:

PGP (Post Graduate Program in Management)

This program is offered by all the 20 IIMs and is considered the flagship program of these institutes. Applicants who are successful in this course are awarded the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) degree which is equivalent to an MBA degree.

• PGP is a general and fully integrated management program that is holistic and covers all aspects of management.
• The program is structured into 6 trimesters in 2 years.
• First year coursework generally consists of core courses in various management disciplines.
• In the 2^nd year, candidates have to choose courses from an exhaustive list of electives.
• There is no work experience needed for pursuing Post Graduate Program in Management.

PGP- FABM (Food and Agribusiness Management)

This course was formerly known as the PGP- ABM program. It is a 2-year full-time course. Students in PGP and FABM have basic classes (except for some new subjects for FABM) in the 1^st year. In the 2^nd year, FABM diverges more from PGP wherein more agro-based subjects are included.

PGPEM (PGP in Enterprise Management)

PGP in Enterprise Management is a 22-month weekend residential program offered by IIM Bangalore. It is designed to benefit the working professionals (mostly mid-career and senior executives) and classes are conducted on Fridays and Saturdays only.

The course is equivalent to EPGP in terms of credits and rigor. The curriculum consists of core courses in management in the 1^st year and a rich choice of electives in the 2^nd year.

PGPPM (PGP in Public Policy and Management)

It is a 1-year, full-time PG program offered by IIM Banglore. Participants will have to undergo comprehensive studies which will help them to specialize in the chosen field of public policy. The major aim of the program is to strengthen public policy and managerial skills of future leaders and senior managers from the civil services; and professionals from social, infrastructure and private sectors

EPGP (Executive Post Graduate Program in Management)

It is an intensive 1-year residential course created specifically for professionals with an experience of 4-15 years in a wide range of industries. Elective courses such as Analytics, BFSI, Operation & Strategy, etc. are offered in addition to a comprehensive core module.

PGPSM (PGP in Sustainable Management)

It is a 2-year full-time residential program offered by IIM Lucknow. It focuses on ways to address environmental and social issues by economic ones. Candidates require work experience of around 4.5 years to be eligible for this course.

PGPWE (PGP in Management for Working Executive)

This is 1.5 years long course designed for mid/ senior level professionals. The classes are conducted on weekends, and the program is formulated to enhance a candidate’s skills and capabilities essential for managerial positions.

PGDHRM (PGD in Human Resource Management): It is a course that seeks to provide aspirants with the knowledge of HR management, its concepts, awareness, and application in the business context.

PGPBM (PGP in Business Management)

It is a flagship program of IIM Tiruchirappalli. The course is designed for working executives aspiring to move into senior leadership roles. Classes are conducted in slots in the evening (from Wednesday to Saturday). 

FPM (Fellow Program in Management)

It is a doctoral program, meant generally for aspirants with industry experience. The duration of the course varies from around 3-5 years. This depends upon completion and publication of research papers of international standards. 

• The program is designed to produce high-quality academicians, researchers, and management thinkers.
• It is largely a research-based course with a focus primarily on research on management rather than pure principles of management.
• All FPM candidates are fully funded during their study for up to 4 years. 

PGPHRM (PGP in Human Resource Management)

PGPHRM is a two- year, full-time flagship program of IIM Ranchi. The program is divided into six trimesters along with the summer project. The program aims to integrate business skills with strong ethical and social concerns. 

PGP – ABM (PGP in Agribusiness Management)

PGP in Agribusiness Management is a two-year, full time, residential course designed to produce agribusiness leaders, entrepreneurs, and intrapreneurs. PGP-ABM is divided into six semesters.
