CAT Eligibility Criteria 2021 has been changed by (IIM) Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. The official notification has been released on August 18, 2021 on the official website. After receiving various queries from the applicants regarding promotion or pass certificate in the place of score card or marks certificate, the decision to change the existing eligibility criteria has been taken. In accordance with the current notification regarding CAT 2021, applicants belonging to general category must hold a bachelor degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. For the candidates from reserved category like SC/ST/PWD need to secure at least 45% of marks in total. But due to COVID-19 various institutes had issued pass or promotion certificates in the last two years, therefore, candidates in the final year or who had complete UG in 2020 and 2021 can select the option “Promotion or Pass” while filling CAT 2021 Application Form and will not be required to fulfil the minimum marks criteria

CAT is conducted for candidates who are seeking admission in the management program at the PG level. It is an online based exam. CAT 2021 will be held on November 28, 2021. To submit the online application form, candidates must register to the official website on or before September 15, 2021.

Some changes that are made in the section of eligibility for candidates who are appearing in CAT 2021 are mentioned below.


 

CAT Eligibility 2021 for Candidates Pursuing Final Year

In the below section, the changes that are made in CAT Eligibility 2021 for candidates pursuing final year of the graduation are given below.

  • Candidates who have a promotion or pass certificate in place of an "award of marks" certificate for the duration of two year of their graduation program enter the option "promotion or pass" in the online application form. 
  • By following the process mentioned above, candidates can complete the process for CAT Application 2021 in spite of having the minimum criteria for CAT Eligibility 2021 i.e 45% for candidates from reserved category and 50% for candidates from general category. 
  • The following eligibility criteria for CAT 2021 also can work for candidates who are in the final year of their graduation and have "award" of the score. 
  • All the criteria mentioned above can only go for the year of 2021 or candidates who are appearing in the final year degree courses. 

CAT Eligibility 2021 for Candidates Graduated in the Year of 2020 and 2021

In the section below, all the changes that are made for CAT 2021 for candidates who have completed their graduation in 2020 or 2021 are given below. 

Because of various patterns introduced by different universities in India for COVID 19, the concerned authority has reduced the minimum score i.e 45% and 50% for candidates appearing in CAT 2021. To make some balance, these changes had been made by the exam conducting body.
