CAT Calculus is one of the most vital sections in Quantitative Aptitude. After reducing the number of questions from CAT QA for the upcoming session, candidates can expect 2 to 3 questions in the entrance test. As per the difficulty level, this section of quantitative aptitude is considered as moderate. In CAT 2021, objective type of question will be framed from this section. Also, the syllabus for this part is not as vast as the other part of the section of Quantitative Aptitude. Check CAT 2021 Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus

What is Calculus & its types?

Calculus is an integral branch of Mathematics. It is applicable to solve equations. It can be divided into two parts.

  • One is Differential Calculus and another one is Integral Calculus.
  • The first one i.e Differential Calculus defines rates of change and slopes of curves whereas the second one defines accumulation of quantities along with the portion between the curves.
  • With the help of the fundamental theorem of calculus, these two branches of calculus are related to each other.
  • Differential Calculus - In mathematics, differential calculus can be defined as the subfield of calculus that helps to know the rates at the point of changes in quantities.
  • Integral Calculus - In mathematics, integral calculus is a part of calculus which helps to know about integrals, accumulation of quantities and others.
