How to Apply for CAT 2018?

Candidates are required to follow the following steps in order to make a successful application of CAT 2018:

CAT Registration

The first stage in CAT 2018 application process is registration. Steps to make registration successful are listed below:

• Go to CAT 2018 official website
• Click on ‘CAT 2018 Registration’.
• Fill in details like name, email id, DOB and mobile number.
• Click on ‘Submit’ tab.
• After successful completion of registration process candidates would receive two separate emails containing user ID and password respectively.

Application Form Filling

After successfully registering themselves for CAT 2018 candidates are required to fill a detailed CAT 2018 application form. The step by step reference for the same is as follows:

• Log in the portal using user ID and Password (generated post registration completion).
• Fill in necessary details such as Personal Details, Academic Details, Work Experience and Program Preference.
• Click on ‘Submit’ to proceed to the next stage i.e. ‘Application Fee Payment’.

Uploading Documents and CAT Application Fee Payment

The final step in CAT 2018 application process is uploading of the documents and fee payment. The procedure for it is mentioned below:

• Candidates would be required to upload necessary documents as a part of the application process (in required specifications only).
• After uploading of the documents candidates would be required to submit the application fee that is INR 1800 (INR 900 for SC/ST/PWD).
• After submission of the application fee, the candidates would be asked to make a final submission of the form.

Documents Required during CAT Registration

Following documents are required to be uploaded as a part of CAT application process:

• Scanned passport size photograph of .jpg or .jpeg format with size less than 80 kb and dimensions 35 mm x 45 mm.
• Scanned signature of the candidate in .jpg or .jpeg format with the dimensions of 80 mm x 35 mm and size less than 80 kb.
• Self-attested scanned copy of NC-OBC/SC/ST/PWD/DA Certificate in pdf format.

How to Retrieve CAT Application Number?

CAT Application number generated after completion of CAT Registration Process would be received by candidates through a separate e-mail. Candidates are advised to save this email or note down this number at some secure place. In case they forget the password for log in portal then they can use the respective application number to set a new password. Steps to set a new password are as follows:

1. Go to login portal for CAT 2018.
2. Click on forget password/username.
3. Enter the respective Email ID and Application Number.
4. In case you don’t know the Application Number the portal will ask you some other details to ensure authentication.
5. A new password reset link would be sent to your registered email ID.
6. Click on the link and set a new password.
7. Now log in using this new password.

The application number would be mentioned on the page appearing immediately after log in. Note this number for future reference.

CAT Registration Fee 2018

CAT 2018 Application Form Status

Candidates would come to know about the status of CAT Application Form once the admit cards are published for the same. At the time of making CAT 2018 application if a candidate has not done any mistake and has successfully filled the form and submitted stipulated fee then they will be notified through a message/email that their application response is submitted successfully.

Those whose application gets rejected would not be able to download the admit card and would be informed about the same through a mail on the registered email id. The reason for rejection of application would also be mentioned.

CAT Registration 2018 for Foreign Candidates

Foreign candidates, NRIs and candidates belonging to “Overseas Candidate” category will have to go through the same examination procedure as that of Indian candidates. A candidate who is residing outside India for a period of 12 months or more for work, study etc. would be treated as an Indian resident abroad for the purposes of the exam.

Eligibility criteria and other rules related to CAT 2018 will be similar to candidates residing in India. CAT 2018 Application Process will include following steps:

CAT 2018 Application Form Correction

Candidates are allowed to make corrections of the mistakes (if any) which they might have made while filling the CAT Application Form. However, candidates should note that these corrections have to be made within the stipulated time period as notified by CAT 2018 conducting authority in the official notification. Candidates would be able to correct/modify only following details:

• Percentage of marks scored
• Work experience
• Selection

Other details would not be subjected to correction/modification.
