MSc Psychology is a postgraduate degree programme of two years that deals with clinical psychology and the study of different treatments and methods involved in it. It aims to teach functioning in the human brain and treat individuals, suffering from emotional and mental problems. Candidates must have completed their bachelor’s and passed class 10+2 with at least 50% aggregate marks.

MSc Psychology First Year Subjects

  • Cognitive Psychology I Theory: Cognitive psychology focuses on the science of how people think. This area explores a wide variety of mental processes, including how people use language, attend to information, etc.
  • Statistics in Behavioral Sciences Theory: Statistics is used by psychologists to plan research; to gather, organize and analyze data; to present data in research papers; and to make inferences about data.
  • Experimental Designs Theory: Experimental design carries out research in an objective and controlled fashion so that precision is maximized and conclusions can be drawn regarding a hypothesis statement. 
  • Research Methods in Psychology Theory: Psychologists use different scientific methods to conduct their research. It helps in making observations, gathering data, forming theories, testing predictions, and interpreting results. 
  • Psychometrics Theory: Psychometric theories portrays intelligence as a composite of abilities measured by mental tests. This can be quantified.

  • Psychology of Social Behaviour Theory: Social behavioral psychology theory suggests that social behavior is learned by observing and imitating the behavior of others. 
  • Dynamics and Interpersonal Behaviour Theory: Interpersonal and Group Dynamics' aim is to develop interpersonal effectiveness in teams and as individual team members through the use of effective communication skills.
  • Personality Theory: Personality theories are the result of hypotheses, experiments, case studies, and clinical research done by scientists in psychology.
