Bihar BArch Admission is conducted by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE), the official body of the Bihar State. Bihar BArch Admission 2023 is done on the basis of an entrance examination. Candidates can appear for either NATA or JEE Main ( Paper-II) to seek admission to the BArch course in Bihar. 

BArch is a five-year-long architecture course. It is divided into 10 semesters with a minimum of 1-year internship. Candidates who wish to pursue a career as an architect can pursue the BArch course. Bihar BArch Admission usually commences after NATA and JEE Main results are announced. To seek admission to the Bihar BArch course, candidates can also appear for the state-level exam, BCECE.

Bihar BArch Admission 2023: Eligibility Criteria

Before the commencement of the online application procedures, the candidates need to check the BCECE 2023 qualification criteria. They have to satisfy these criteria in order to appear for the counseling rounds. 

Given below are the various criteria which determine the eligibility of a candidate:

Educational Qualification Pass Class XII with an aggregate of at least 50%
Age Limit No age limit

Bihar BArch Admission Process 2023

For applying to the Bihar BArch Admission candidates can follow the following steps for the online application submission.

Registration

Candidates must visit the official website of the board to register for the counseling process. Candidates are required to upload all relevant details such as Name, Mobile Number, email-id, etc. Once registered, candidates will receive an OTP on their mobile phones to verify the account.

Upload Photograph & Signature

  • Select and upload the latest photograph as well as the signature of the candidate.
  • Ensure that the signature fits in the box provided.
  • Click on ‘upload’

Application Form

  • In the application form, fill in the educational details of the candidate.
  • Review all the entered details.
  • Click on ‘Submit’

Fee Payment

  • Enter the Enrollment number and other details and pay the application fee.
  • Payments can be done either in online or offline mode. Candidates may opt to pay through Credit/Debit Card/Net-banking or through bank challan.

Bihar BArch Admission 2023: Result

  • The candidates who had appeared for the BCECE entrance exam will be able to check their results on the official website by entering their Roll Number/ Application Number. 
  • The BCECE board will release the BCECE BArch merit list on the website of the shortlisted candidates. The merit list of the shortlisted candidates will be solely based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the JEE Main paper-2. 
  • The selected candidates can participate in the counseling rounds as per the schedule which will be intimated by the authority. 
  • Candidates will be allotted seats according to the ranks.

Bihar BArch Admission 2023: Counseling Process

  • The counseling for BCECE admissions commences after the release of the results. Candidates will be intimated about the date and venue by the respective authorities. 
  • Information regarding Counseling will be made available to candidates on the official BCECE website. 
  • The BArch aspirants can choose their preferences for the institutes to be allotted into through the online choice-filling and locking option provided on the website. 
  • The seat allotment will be done based on the rank obtained by the candidates in the JEE Main paper-2. 
  • The candidates are required to pay the admission fee to confirm the seat and admission to the allotted institute.

Bihar BArch Admission 2023: FAQs

Ques. How are the institutes allotted for the candidates appearing for BCECE?

Ans. Candidates are supposed to provide their options for the institutes during the counseling rounds. Once the merit list is released, candidates will be able to do the same.

Ques. Can international students apply for BCECE?

Ans. No. International students cannot apply for BCECE. In order to appear for the same, the candidate must be a citizen of India.

Key Highlights:

  • There are several good colleges in Maharashtra and Gujarat for Architecture. But NIT Raipur has a lot of bad reviews from students who have studied B.Arch in the institute.
  • Most teachers in Architecture at NIT Raipur are not good in their teaching habits and capabilities. Teachers make students mindless about their actions, even some hard working ones.
  • It is obvious that Architecture studies involve a lot of hard-work in assignments, but teachers are not even sensible about the fact.
  •  The curriculum at NIT Raipur is such that it can frustrate a student who has good concepts to the core.
  • People may tell you a college does not matter in the overall development of students. But, it is true that in fields like architecture and management, you need to be smart enough to deal with a lot of people in your career. So, the institute's atmosphere, and the people surrounding a student, do matter.

NIT Raipur is not a decent place for a Bachelor of Architecture, considering all the above factors. If you have any other options, it will be wise to go for them.

B.Arch at Poornima University is a better option to pursue because it is approved by the Council of Architecture and they have a Globally Accepted Credit and Grading system. It is also one of the largest groups of professional education in Rajasthan.

They are very much sufficient when it comes to the Architectural course. They have well equipped design labs for each year with proper work benches to cater to the needs of the students in all possible manners. 

The college has also received a rank 14 for its architecture course by Outlook Magazine.

Giani Zail Singh College is one of the oldest and reputed colleges when it comes to B.Arch. It is ranked at the 2nd position in Punjab.

The professors of the B.Arch department are well-learned and great at teaching. The alumni network of the college is good and some of them are placed in reputed companies and organizations. The college will engage you more in extracurricular activities to help you learn the management of events. 

There is only one disadvantage at Giani Zail Singh College is the lack of placements. There are no good opportunities available especially for B.Arch. Many of my friends have opened their own consultancy firms. 

If you have other options available, then go for them first because Giani Zail Singh College will disappoint you in terms of exposure.

Architecture and Metallurgy are two entirely separate branches. According to the recent highlights, BIT Sindri placements for Metallurgy are better. The highest and average CTC for the branch is INR 10.11 LPA and INR 4.76 LPA, respectively.
