IIIT Sonepat and IIIT Una both are premier institutes. They are ranked amongst the top IIIT institutes. The choice between both of them is quite difficult and they present quite a good picture in terms of performance & various other factors. 

The prominent factors are discussed in detail below:

Academics

• IIIT Sonepat offers two specializations when it comes to B.tech; primarily IT and CSE but IIIT Una offers 3 specializations by adding one more stream in form of ECE. 
• Both of them look up to JEE scores while admission of prospective students.

Scholarships

• IIIT Sonepat offers scholarships to students from different meritorious and reserved categories. 
• The benefits are also given to students whose annual income is less than INR 6 LPA. IIIT Una does not provide this facility.

Placements

The placement scenario of colleges is described below:

The recruiters on both the campuses are good & reputed like IBM, Reliance, Analytics, Quotient, WEP Solutions, Ebizon, Vihaan Networks. The package offered at Sonepat although is high as compared to Una.

IIIT Una is in collaboration with NIT Hamirpur while Sonepat is in sync with NIT KKR. Joining any one of them is better than joining any private institute as the exposure is quite good and that too is in sync with experienced faculties.

Among the given choices, IIIT Sonepat is the better choice. My brother is a student of IIIT Sonepat. So, I know a little bit about the institute. so you can have faith in my answer. Currently, they are studying in the Sonepat Campus of IIT Delhi, which is great as you get an opportunity to be in the nation's most prestigious college.

On this campus, there are currently 2 branches, namely CS and IT. In each branch, there are 60 students each.

The main reasons to go for IIIT Sonepat are as follows.

Hostel: The campus is not that big but as it is newly constructed, it has the latest facilities. The hostel rooms are decent. The full hostel building is under a centralized AC/Heater. Rooms are double sharing. Each room has a refrigerator, a LED TV. The hostel and campus are well-maintained. The mess is also well maintained and it is made sure that food is cooked in a hygienic environment.

Fee Structure: The fee structure is affordable to all sections.

Placements: Placements were good in the previous session and most students got placed. Some data from the previous year session are-

• Avg package - 8.2 LPA
• Highest package - 40.03 LPA

One of the best features of the campus is, It has one building and different sections are made in it like hotels, classes, a mess. You don't have to walk a lot to reach classes and hence both time and energy are saved.

IIIT Una & IIIT Sonipat both are of the new 20 IIITs established recently. They do not present quite a great picture for comparison. The decision can be taken with respect to factors like location, placements, and academic curriculum in general as per the CSE stream.

Academic Curriculum

• Both the IIITs are popular for providing computer-related courses as they were established with that specific purpose. 
• Sonepat offers courses at Rs. 5.80 Lakhs while Una offers it at Rs. 7.91 Lakhs. IIIT Sonepat offers scholarship opportunities too.

Location

• The locations of both the campuses are not that lucrative in respect of placements as Haryana and Hamirpur are not that preferable as compared to Bangalore & Hyderabad. 
• The campus infrastructure is quite great; offering green lush space to experience the environment.

IIIT Sonepat has a great package range with a good option when it comes to a choice between MNC’s.

IIIT’s were established with a motive to spread the range of CSE but before going for IIIT’s a careful analysis is a must look after every possible factor that can act as a deterrent.

As many of my friends have graduated from IIIT Bhopal. So I can assure you IIIT Sonepat is more secure and better than IIIT Bhopal in terms of campus lifestyle, placement opportunities, academic performances, and sports activities, and a lot more.

Campus:

• Recently IIIT Sonepat has been shifted to IIT Delhi Technopark, Sonepat which is nothing but an extension campus of IIT Delhi in Sonepat. 
• On the other hand, you will find IIIT Bhopal is still running in MANIT, Bhopal. Even its permanent campus is way farther than the developed part of the city. 
• The hostels for the 1st-year students of the IIIT Bhopal are provided in RGPV Bhopal which is 13 km away from MANIT. Consequently, students are driven by bus to the campus, which is quite a waste of time. This is why my friends say hostel life is not that good in IIIT Bhopal.

Placements:

This year IIIT Sonepat holds a good record in placements by bringing a decent amount of companies. Recording the highest package of 23.84 LPA and an average package of 6.44 LPA. 

Whereas in IIIT Bhopal the first batch would pass out in 2021 till then nothing could be said about the placements. Meanwhile when there would be a permanent campus of IIIT Bhopal and the placement records would be available the things might be the other way around.

IIIT Sonepat is among the top 20 new IIITs approved by MHRD. Also, the central and state government offers merit and national scholarships to students.

NIT Srinagar is one of the 18 Engineering Colleges sponsored by the Govt. of India and was also awarded by the ‘Outstanding engineering institute’ by ABP News in 2014. One of the faculty members lauded Rajiv Gandhi's education excellence.

Academics:

• IIIT Sonepat offers a BTech in IT and the selection to the program is through JEE Main. The required cutoff for IT in 2019 was 25334 (General). The total course fee is 2.4 lakhs.

• NIT Srinagar selects students for BTech CSE through JEE Mains. The required cutoff is 37374. The total course fee is 5.3 lakhs.

Placements:

• The placement rate at IIIT Sonepat is 80-90% among the students, and the main roles are offered as software engineers. Microsoft, Amazon, and Flipkart are the top-notch companies that come for recruitment.

• The recruitment percentage of ECE students at NIT Srinagar is 80%, with the manager role as the top post. Major recruiters this year included NTPC, IOCL, DRDO, IRCON, TCS, and Punj Lloyd.

The placement statistics for the academic year 2019-20 at the institutes are as follows.

Infrastructure:

• IIIT Sonepat has excellent hostel services, a proper AC system, and a sports and gaming complex. Besides this, lab and library facilities are at par excellence level of IITs and NITs.

• NIT Srinagar has a modern-day infrastructure, which sets it apart from other colleges. It further has a Smart class system, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a well-equipped library to offer.

Faculty:

• The majority of teachers at IIIT Sonepat are Ph.D. degree holders with the best industry knowledge and teaching methodology.

• The faculty members at NIT Srinagar hold M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees and are subject experts in their fields.

IIIT Sonepat has greater opportunities and options; on the other hand, NIT Srinagar has a demonstrated history of performance over the years. Hence these factors should be kept in mind by students while making a decision.
