Application process conducted by Government Arts College is offline. However, for PG and M.Phil/ PhD courses, admission is done through Bharathiar University. In addition, the candidates applying for MCA, can register themselves online with TANCET on the respective official website for the entrance examination.
To apply for admission in the course, here are enlisted the steps to be followed –
For online:
- Visit the official website of the university.
- Fill in the online application form.
- Submit the completely filled application form by paying the online fee of INR 300 (For General/ OBC) and INR 150 (for SC/ ST) via Credit/ Debit Card/ Net-Banking.
For Offline:
- Visit the official website of the university or the college to download the application form or obtain the same from the admission office for INR 300 (General/ OBC) and INR 150 (SC/ ST).
- Fee has to be paid via DD of in favour of ‘Registrar, Bharathiar University’, payable at Coimbatore (if application form is download from the website.)
- Take the print out of the application form.
- Fill the application form correctly.
- Affix the passport sized photograph at the designated places in the form.
- Attach the documents, which are listed below –
- SSLC and HSC mark sheets and passing certificate
- Bachelor’s degree and mark sheets
- TANCET Admit Card and Score Card
- Certificate of Extra-curricular activities, if any
- Caste certificate, if applicable
- Certificate for physical disability, if any
- Transfer Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Self-addresses stamped envelope of value INR 60
- Demand Draft
- Send the application form along with the aforementioned documents at –

Application for M.Phil/ PhD –
- Candidates can either download the application form from the official website of the university or obtain the same from the admission office of the university by paying INR 500 (for M.Phil) and INR 600 (for PhD).
- Application form consists of two parts; Part 1 and Part 2
- Application Form Part 1 must be filled completely without any enclosures but a Demand Draft in favour of ‘The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore – 46’, payable at Coimbatore. (in case if downloaded from the website)
- Fill the application form Part 2 correctly.
- Affix the passport sized photograph at the designated place.
- Attach the self-attested documents mentioned below –
- SSLC and HSC mark sheets and passing certificates
- Bachelor’s degree and mark sheets
- Master’s degree and mark sheets
- Caste Certificate
- Demand Draft of INR 500 (for M.Phil) and INR 600 (for PhD) in favour of The Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore – 46’, payable at Coimbatore. (in case if downloaded from the website)
- Send the Application Form Part 1 to Registrar, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore – 46. While the Application Form Part 2 must be sent along with the aforementioned documents at – Principal/ Director of Government Arts College, Coimbatore – 46.
