Vemana Institute of Technology was established in the year 1999 on a 5 acre land in the IT centre of India, Bangalore. It is recognised by the Government of Karnataka, approved by All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE) , New Delhi and affiliated to VTU, Belagavi, Karnataka. It offers five UG courses with 600 intake and three PG courses. It also has 5 VTU approved research centres.

Admissions for B.E/B.Tech are done based on the marks scored by the candidates in CET/COMEDK and for post graduate courses, scorecard of KPGCET is required. There is a competent placement cell to prepare the students for the vast competitive world they are about to enter. Keeping up to its legacy, it invited companies like WIPRO, UNISYS, TECHJINI, TATA, etc. for the students to kick start their dream career. The college also holds various programmes and seminars to train the students in various personality and technical fields. Facilities like library, hostels, sports facilities, cafeteria etc.are also provided by the college. It has been ranked 6th in Karnataka.
