Read Full ReviewI have a friend at IIIT Pune. I only heard good things about the institute from him. Here are some facts about IT at PICT and CSE at IIIT-Pune, which may help you to decide.

Exposure and Brand:
Students think that PICT is old so it’s better and yes it’s been around for 20 years since PICT’s inception and it has developed whereas IIIT-Pune is just 2 years old and has the potential for tremendous growth.
If you are planning on pursuin Computer Science then choosing PICT will be better than VIT. It offers better placement opportunities. According to the recent placement highlights the average and highest CTC offered by PICT is 7.75 LPA and 91 LPA respectively.
Don’t choose VIT, just because it is autonomous. However, it does offer flexible academics and less number of lectures. If you get a backlog, you can clear it within one month.
PICT is one of Maharashtra's leading computer science and information technology institutions. The coding environment is quite competitive. There are numerous technical events held to test your knowledge. The placements have been slightly lower in the last few years. The main recruiters at the institute are TCS, Accenture, Cybag, etc.
NIT is doing well in CSE placement. Nowadays, the placement committee is providing better opportunities. Polaris FT, IBM, Samsung, Amazon, and Tesco HSC are the top recruiters. The average salary package offered of 5 lakhs per annum, whereas the highest is around 15-20 lakhs.
Here are the recent placement highlights for the courses.
Parameters | IT in PICT | CSE in NIT Goa |
Total course fee | 3.86 lakhs | 5.38 lakhs |
Top recruiters | Amdocs, CapGemini, Cybage, IBM | Amadeus, BARC, Bosch Ltd, BSNL, Cap Gemini, HFCL, HP, IBM, Infosys |

Overall, CSE at NIT Goa offers better placement.
IT in IIITM Gwalior is a better option than CS at PICT. Being a centrally funded institute, it has a better infrastructure and offers great facilities. IIITM Gwalior placements 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 24.85 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 1.95 CPA. Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Facebook, etc. are among the major recruiters that took part in the placement drive.
Among the above two institutes, IIIT Kota is a definite choice, which is without doubt surpassing PICT Pune by all means of judgment. The points below give a brief overview of both the institutes that will support the choice with a lot of valid reasons.
It is obvious that IIIT Kota is a clear winner among the two. But, there are fake reviews from consultants over the internet supporting these institutes, which students should avoid looking after.
My friend is a student of Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) and has a better opinion on the same. The CS branch in PICT is among the top three CS course offerings in the Maharashtra State Colleges. Here are some of the advantages of choosing PICT Pune CS.
