Course Information

Eligibility Criteria

i. Candidates must have valid WBJEE / JEE (Main) Score.

ii. Candidates must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) with Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Applications / Technical Vocational subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical, wherever applicable) in all three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.

iii. Candidates must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC, ST, OBC, PwD) in all the three subjects taken together.

iv. Candidates must have passed English in “10+2” examination with at least 30% marks.

v. The board of qualifying examination must be recognized either by the Central or State Government.

vi. Both B.Sc. Candidates and Diploma holders in Engineering & Technology will also be eligible for admission to the 1st year Engineering Degree Courses, subject to vacancies in the 1st year classes in case the vacancies as lateral entry at second year are exhausted. However, the admission shall be based strictly on the eligibility criteria as mentioned above.

AIIMS Patna and Medical College Kolkata (MCK) both seem to have their own perks in the different areas of anyone’s interest. Here are some facts that you need to know before making any decision.

AIIMS Patna

Many believe that AIIMS Patna is a very new college but you can not avoid the fact that it is an AIIMS.
Due to the same reason, it is very well recognized abroad so go for it if studying abroad is your goal ultimately.
Also, it is well funded therefore the infrastructure and campus are of a top-notch level.
The teaching faculty as well is on a better level than MCK.
They have got all the co-curricular activities covered too.

Medical College Kolkata (MCK)

MCK is not a centrally aided institute so the infrastructure lacks a bit more than that of AIIMS Patna.
But the environment is a very healthy one without any political interference in the college procedures.
The greatest perk is that it is a 180-year-old college which results in a huge alumni network.
Also, if you are a student from Kolkata then you fall in the state reservation quota of 50%, unlike AIIMS.

Both the colleges are good at their own places, choose the one that suits your requirements. This will be a major step up for your career.
