MCKVIE BTech admissions are based on WBJEE Score/ JEE Main Score. The application process for WBJEE has commenced on December 28, 2023. The last date for the WBJEE registration 2024 is on January 31, 2024. Candidates can register for the WBJEE 2024 at wbjeeb.nic.in. WBJEE Exam Date 2024 is April 28, 2024.

MCKV Institute of Engineering is affiliated to the West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata. It was established in the year 1999 and is located in the city of Howrah, West Bengal. It is NAAC Accredited with a grade “A”. The AICTE approved institute offers admission to the B.Tech, MBA and M.Tech courses.

The B.Tech course has 9 specializations and admission to the course will be based on the performance in either JEE Mains or WBJEE. Higher Secondary Examination qualified candidates can apply for admission.
M.Tech admissions at MCKVIE are done on the basis of valid GATE scores or PGET conducted by MAKAUT.

MCKV Institute Of Engineering B.Tech. Selection Criteria:

Admission to the course will be either based on the performance in JEE Mains or WBJEE (JEM).
80% seats of the approved intake in a college are allocated to the WBJEE (JEM) qualified candidates.
10% of seats of such intake are allocated to the JEE Mains qualified candidates.
The remaining 10% of seats are allowed by the Government to colleges as Management Quota.

Key points B.Tech (Lateral Entry):

For the Lateral Entry admissions, candidates must have a Diploma in Engineering or Technology of 3-year duration from the Board of Technical Education West Bengal.
A candidate holding a B.Sc. degree in any branch of engineering from a recognized University or its equivalent examination can also apply for Lateral Entry.
The final cutoff for institute-level counseling for both the courses will provide the list of candidates shortlisted for the admission.

AIIMS Patna and Medical College Kolkata (MCK) both seem to have their own perks in the different areas of anyone’s interest. Here are some facts that you need to know before making any decision.

AIIMS Patna

Many believe that AIIMS Patna is a very new college but you can not avoid the fact that it is an AIIMS.
Due to the same reason, it is very well recognized abroad so go for it if studying abroad is your goal ultimately.
Also, it is well funded therefore the infrastructure and campus are of a top-notch level.
The teaching faculty as well is on a better level than MCK.
They have got all the co-curricular activities covered too.

Medical College Kolkata (MCK)

MCK is not a centrally aided institute so the infrastructure lacks a bit more than that of AIIMS Patna.
But the environment is a very healthy one without any political interference in the college procedures.
The greatest perk is that it is a 180-year-old college which results in a huge alumni network.
Also, if you are a student from Kolkata then you fall in the state reservation quota of 50%, unlike AIIMS.
