Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College BTech admissions are based on WBJEE Score/ JEE Main Score. The application process for WBJEE has commenced on December 28, 2023. The last date for the WBJEE registration 2024 is on January 31, 2024. Candidates can register for the WBJEE 2024 at wbjeeb.nic.in. WBJEE Exam Date 2024 is April 28, 2024.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College was founded in 2000 and is situated in Durgapur, West Bengal. The College is affiliated to Maulana Abul Kalam University of Technology, Kolkata and is approved by AICTE and NBA.

The college offers UG and PG programs in the field of Engineering, Computer Application, and Management. UG courses include B.Tech in seven streams, BCA, and BBA (Regular and Hospital Management) while four specializations of M.Tech, MCA, and MBA are offered as PG courses by the Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College.

Applicants shall apply online for the entrance tests they have to appear in, through the website of the conducting body.
Candidates who are seeking to join BBA and BCA does not have to appear in any examination and shall apply offline or online through the college’s website.
Students can make the payment of application fee either in both online and offline modes.
Candidates who have passed 10+2 with PCME as compulsory subjects are eligible to apply for admission to B.Tech course.
Admission in B.Tech course is given based on candidate’s merit in JEE Main or WBJEE
Those who have passed HSC with minimum 50% marks and have studied English and any one of these subjects Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics are eligible for admission to BCA.
For BBA any candidate with 10+2 in any discipline are eligible to get admission.
Admission in BBA and BCA is given on the basis of student’s merit in the qualifying examination and marks scored in GD and PI conducted by the college.
Applicants who hold BE/ B.Tech or MSc Degree in relevant specialization are considered eligible for the M.Tech program.
Selection of candidate for M.Tech is done through MAKAUT-PGCET or GATE merit and admission is given through counselling process.
For MBA and MBA course candidates with Graduation Degree in any discipline are eligible for admission.
Admission to MCA program is given based on candidate’s score in WB-JECA whereas for MBA admission candidates are shortlisted as per their score obtained in JEMAT or MAT.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College B.Tech, BBA, and BCA Admission 2023

UG courses offered by the College include B.Tech with 7 specializations, BCA and BBA. The two branches of B.Tech course viz. Information Technology and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering have the intake of 60 seats while the other specializations have 120 seats. Similarly, BBA and BCA have total 120 seats, whereas BBA Hospital Management has the intake of 60 students.

Applicants who have passed 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent qualifying examination conducted by any recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects are eligible to get admission in B.Tech program. For admission to BBA and BCA, applicants must have passed 10+2 in general or vocational stream with English as a compulsory language.

Selection of the students for admission to BBA and BCA program is done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying examination and the shortlisted candidates are called to attend the Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds. Admission to B.Tech course is given based on candidate’s merit in WBJEE or JEE Main.

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College MBA, MCA, M.Tech Admission 2023

Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College offers M.Tech, MCA and MBA program. M.Tech has 4 specializations with 18 seats in each and MCA and MBA have 60 seats in each. Applicants who have completed BE/ B.Tech in relevant discipline are considered eligible for M.Tech admission, while for MCA minimum eligibility criteria is Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 50% marks with Mathematics in 10+2/ HSC. Students who hold Bachelor’s Degree (10+2+3) in any relevant discipline are eligible for MBA admission.

Admission to M.Tech course is given based on candidate’s GATE score or merit of MAKAUT-PGCET. Selection of candidates for MCA program is done based on their marks obtained in JECA conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, whereas for MBA program applicants with valid MAT or JEMAT score are called for GD and PI round conducted by the college and those who qualify these are admitted to the course.

Key Points for Admission:

MAKAUT conducts Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) for M.Tech and M.Pharm courses. Applicants with and without valid GATE score have to appear in MAKAUT-PGCET.
JEMAT (Joint Entrance Management Aptitude Test) is a state level test conducted by MAKAUT, West Bengal.
WB-JECA is a Joint Entrance Examination for MCA program conducted at the state level and is a computer-based examination.

The Institute provides Scholarship and Tuition Fee Waiver to the meritorious students of M.Tech and MBA program.

Every GATE qualified candidates of M.Tech course are provided the scholarship of INR 3000 per month.

Remarks:

The admission process was very simple, it was not needed to take any college exam I just cleared my joint entrance examination mains and got a percentile of 63 in it and was admitted to the college.

Remarks:

The admission procedure was through a counseling process which was a part of WBJEE. There was a minimum cutoff for admission in different branches of this college. Later on, it had a cutoff for class 10 and 12 results.

Well, according to the information I have received from my friends enrolled in both the institutes, I would say that both of these institutes are not that good.

The teaching methodologies used are extremely bad, and the alumni network of both colleges is utterly awful.
If you have a good academic record and are good at understanding concepts then do not consider these colleges.
I believe that you should work on yourself and improve your skills and knowledge to become an engineer.
You can opt for a drop year and prepare for the JEE Examinations of the following year.
Study for a minimum of 3-4 months so that you can at least be eligible for admission at a decent institute, better than these two.

Ensure that you have the appropriate knowledge from the 10+2 education, before applying for admission at colleges. I hope that these suggestions would help you in creating better prospects for your career.

One of my cousins is studying CSE at UEM University so I can give you a scenario of UEM University.

Here are a few of the things about UEM Kolkata.

The faculties of UEM Kolkata are good and they also help students.
You will have all the academic exposure here as lots of conferences keep happening at UEM. The academic design of UEM is also good. But semesters are not easy, you have to study hard.
UEM seniors are good. Few of them have created video games for android and built non-framework cars. UEM also started a group where students can build their own cars.
