The placement scenario for MCA is not considered as good as it is for B.Tech students in KNIT Sultanpur. The thing that matters the most is your consistency in working during MCA.
My brother has recently graduated from IET and based on his experience, I can suggest you a few points:
It is important to acknowledge that MCA placements are in no comparison with that of B.Tech but still it gives better exposure as compared to any Government College. BIET Jhansi does not offer MCA, so there’s no comparison with it.
Many of the students do not find ECE as an interesting branch due to the following reason:
Now, coming back to the choice between the two colleges, we know:
If the student wants to secure good, any college between the two can be chosen but the student will have to work hard. A lot of effort will be needed in ECE organizations.
You should not expect high as it is a government college. The faculty at BIET is not that great. Most of the classes are given by guest faculty. The classroom education is not up to the expectations.
There will be enough time for self-preparation with the help of the seniors.
There will be few things that the students need to bring with them before heading towards the hostel of BIET.
These things can be also bought by the canteen outside the hostel. Things can also be bought in the city which is 8km away.
There will be many types of students at BIET including very studious students who will never miss any class and become the teacher’s favorite.
For accommodation, the first-year students are occupied in three occupancy rooms. The second-year students are given four-seater rooms and third and fourth-year students are given single occupancy rooms. Hostels are different in all the years.
The students should meet the recent pass out and current students of the college and know the current situation.

IET Lucknow is the best Govt. college affiliated with AKTU. It is definitely better than BIET Jhansi from the placement point of view.
Overall, going by all these factors, I will say IET, Lucknow will be better.
At BIET Jhansi, you will be most likely to learn subjects that have no connection with Computer Engineering. It will include subjects like C language and its basics. But if you have any basic knowledge of any of these programming languages like C, C++, Java then there’s nothing to worry about.
Don't carry any such book as there are plenty of books available in the departmental library for every requirement. Also, with an online library, you will find books on every genre including your subjects books too.
The best advice and answer for your question would be to, “Follow your heart". This is not supposed to be cliché but the best choice that you can make would be the one where you believe your career is.
If you have a keen interest in machines, automobiles, and thermodynamics, then you must opt for Mechanical Engineering. If you hold an interest in circuit branches, then you should opt for Electrical Engineering. If you realise your niche and have an honest interest in your branch then your choice of college would not matter much as the Course curriculum for Engineering is almost the same for both colleges.
A lot of people believe that Mechanical Engineering is the toughest but you should do your research before opting for your branch. Choosing the right branch will also give you enough time to prepare for CAT while attending your college.
Thapar University can be the best option if you can afford the fee. You will be given better job opportunities once you complete the degree. BIET Jhansi is recognized in UP only and the placement opportunity is very less. A few of my friends from BIET Jhansi have often complained about lack of resources and a very competitive environment.
You should definitely go ahead with HBTU for IT and Electronics. Here are some of the reasons for this:

Always choose a better college overlooking for a branch. This is mainly because companies visit colleges based on their popularity, quality of students, and status.
There are primarily three major factors that determine whether a college is good or bad. These include - facilities, placements, and faculty. Let me provide you a brief insight about it, which might help you understand it a bit better.
Facility:Since JSS is a private college, the infrastructure and the facilities are much better than other institutes in the city.
Faculty: All three institutes, BIET, KNIT, and JSS, is affiliated with AKTU and the faculty belong to the same level of expertise.
Placements:JSS provides good industry exposure. The location of JSS is also pretty convenient as it enables access to places near and far.
Categories | BIET Jhansi | KNIT Sultanpur | JSS Noida |
Course Fee | 2.44 lakhs | 3.37 lakhs | 2.2 lakhs |
Highest CTC | 10-12 LPA | 14 LPA | 18-20 LPA |
Average CTC | 5-6 LPA | 3.5 LPA | 7 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Amazon, Oracle, etc. | HP, TCS, etc. | IBM, Infosys, etc. |
It is suggested that you go for JSS, as it has better placement records than BIET or KNIT. But ultimately it is your choice and how you want your career to be shaped.
Among the government colleges, BIET Jhansi is one of the best for pursuing B. Tech for civil engineering or mechanical branch. It is better than JSS as an institute if you want to prepare for competitive examinations like GATE.
Although if you are willing to pursue GATE or other such various government exams then you should keep in mind that there are no esteemed coaching institutions at Jhansi that would guide you or boost your performance/preparations for the same.
Here are some of the advantages of choosing BIET Jhansi.
One of the main disadvantages of choosing BIET is the scarcity of water.
