According to the recent highlights of BIT Sindri placement the average package received by the students is around INR 6 LPA. Here are the placement highlights for recent years.

Highest CTC  INR 13 LPA
Lowest CTC  INR 3 LPA

The placements are especially good for the IT branch.

Well, every student boosts his/her college. I have heard people saying BIT Sindri is good. But don’t trust these emotional reviews blindly. Try to judge the institute based on statistics and facts.

  • BIT Sindri doesn’t hold a rank so far. Only 3-4 years ago it was ranked as 21 and 22 respectively. Only in these years many reputed IITs, NITs were ranked below BIT Sindri which was completely unacceptable. Now, BIT Sindri doesn’t hold any rank on the list of engineering colleges in India.
  • The college website is not updated and the students have no portals where they can get access to tests, lecture schedules, etc. even any notice of time table, exam schedule, and some urgent notice. The only source is the WhatsApp group, where someone clicks and shares.
  • The placement statistics over the recent years have not been impressive. The average package offered here is 4.5 LPA while the highest package is 10.12 LPA
  • There is a lack of curricular activities and fests on campus.
  • The only reason to join BIT Sindri is the affordable college fees. 75% attendance is not needed and you get plenty of free hours but if you utilize them better you can develop skills in the meantime.
  • The times are changing with the change of Director of the college. Infrastructure is getting good and the nearby FCI Company is also starting again where students can get vocational training, Internships & more practical exposure.

The condition of college may improve in 3-4 years if things go accordingly. But at present, it is not a good option.

To get admission in a BTech course at BIT Sindri, you need to take JCECE i.e. Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. You can apply for the institute on the basis of your rank. Based on the course, the required cutoff differs. If you have scored above the required cutoff, you can apply to your preferred branch.

For core branches BIT Sindri is better. CUSAT focuses on branches such as Environmental Science, Marine, etc. CUSAT fees are a little higher. If you aren’t getting your choice of branch at BITSindri, you can choose CUSAT.

BIT Sindri fees are economical. It has a good student culture, the seniors are very helpful. BIT Sindri placements are excellent. During the recent placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 4.51 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 10 LPA.

You should get admission to BIT Mesra. It has better recognition in the industry. During 2022 placements, more than 235 recruiters took part in BIT Mesra placements. The institute boasts of an average CTC of INR 13.01 LPA. The highest national CTC offered last year was INR 58.33 LPA.

Being a regional college, BIT Mesra has an excellent student crowd.

Among these, NIT Jamshedpur is better. Being a centrally funded institute it offers better facilities. It has better brand recognition and industry presence. NIT Jamshedpur placements are excellent. The 2022 batch received an average CTC of around INR 13.2 LPA. Goldman Sachs, TATA Group, Amazon, etc. were some of the major recruiters to take part in the campus recruitment.

Compared to BIT Sindri, NIT Jamshedpur will offer you better academics, facilities, and placements.

One of my friends is in BIT Sindri, so I might be able to answer your question here. Both are very popular institutes, but I will give some information about BIT Sindri’s pros and cons. Analyzing that you can then make an informed decision.

Why BIT Sindri would be a better choice:

  • Not at all expensive, fees are almost negligible here.
  • BIT Sindri has been a brand in itself since 1949.
  • Has a rich alumni base with great success history.
  • Want to crack GATE, CAT, IES, UPSC, JPSC, GRE, TOEFL, SSC, BANK/PO in your current graduation year. You will have ample time to study for those exams while you are in college.
  • Attending college is not compulsory.
  • Vast campus with beautiful infrastructure(450 acres).

Recruiting Companies

Capgemini, ITC, Vedanta, Jaro Education, etc.

Why you should not choose BIT Sindri :

  • Very less number of classes (Even HOD's and professors of college don't recommend taking jobs here because of fewer classes)
  • Labs are just for writing assignments and journals.
  • Infrastructure is good from many private colleges, but not sufficient professors and lab technicians to help you, and those who are present are not enthusiastic enough to make you learn something new.
  • Even there is no Wi-Fi. You will have to go to labs to avail that. You can't even learn by yourself from courses or NPTEL or any other online sites.

That's all about BIT Sindri. Honestly speaking, Personality development and industry exposure are much better at VIT.

There is no such thing as placement strategy but talking of placements, very few students of the civil branch are interested in it.

  • Most of the students go for IES or State government jobs.
  • The placement of core companies in campus placement do not prefer girls because of the security issues and therefore girls mostly prefer IT companies during placements.
  • In campus placement companies visit depends upon the concerned branches TPO. Students have to take place in soft companies. Many of them are placed in companies like IBM & TCS.

India is a developing country and there is a huge requirement for Civil Engineers and will be in the coming future for Infrastructure development. So, it would be good, just stay focused on the core subject.
