NTA has announced CUET UG 2024 and CUET PG 2024 exam dates. The CUET UG 2024 exam will be held from May 15 to May 31, while the CUET PG 2024 exam is scheduled to be held from March 11 to March 28, 2024.


Lady Irwin College admission 2023 for all UG and PG are based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), conducted by NTA. For UG programs, candidates are required to appear for the CUET UG exam and applicants for PG programs are required to appear in the CUET PG exam. Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) for PG admissions has been discarded starting from the academic year 2023.The admissions to Ph.D. programme is through an entrance exam and interview.

Once the CUET result is out, the registration process for all UG and PG programs will start on Delhi University’s admission portal - admission.uod.ac.in. Candidates will then be required to fill in program and college choices for seat allocation. Seat allocation for UG courses will be done through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal while the final selection for PG courses will be based on the merit list released by the institute for both merit and entrance based admissions. 

For PG admission, 50% of the total seats will be filled on the basis of the candidate's merit in the qualifying examination. The merit-based option is open only to candidates with bachelor's degrees from Delhi University. The remaining 50% of the total seats will be provided on the basis of candidates' rank in the CUET PG examination.

Lady Irwin College also has 50% of the total seats reserved for students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/EWS

Lady Irwin College UG Admission 2023

Lady Irwin College offers UG courses in science stream for both General and Honors subjects. The duration of the UG courses are for 3 years, as full time regular courses. The UG courses offered are, B.Sc (Program) and B.Sc (Hons.) in different specialisations. The eligibility criteria is to complete intermediate or equivalent courses with English as compulsory subject from a recognized board. Selection will be based on the CUET marks followed by e-counselling.

Candidates who have studied both Mathematics and Biology at qualifying exam will be given 3% relaxation.
B.Sc (Hons) Home Science Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Biological Studies/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry
 
50% or more marks in the aggregate of any three of Physics/Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry and other subjects from List B. Merit will be calculated based on aggregate percentage including at least one subject of Physics/Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology/Biochemistry and subjects from List B.
B.Sc (Pass) Home Science Combination I: Any one Language from List A + Any three subjects out of which at least two should be from List B1 OR Combination II: Any one Language from List A + Any one subject from either List B1 or List B2 + Section III of CUET (General Test) Merit to be calculated on aggregate of compulsory language, i.e., English and any three academic elective subjects from List B. Essential for Candidates to have Pass marks or more in English. Appropriate proration procedures will be adopted if the theory component is less than 70%

Lady Irwin College UG Selection Process

Candidates seeking admission to the UG courses at Lady Irwin College must clear the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The final selection will be done through e-counselling conducted by Delhi University on the basis of CUET scores. CUET is divided into the following three sections:

  • Section 1 Languages: this further contains two sections, ‘A’ and ‘B’. Section ‘A’ contains 13 languages such as Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, etc. Section ‘B’ contains 20 languages such as French, Spanish, German, Nepali, Persian, etc. For admission candidates must at least appear in one language. 
  • Section 2 Domain Specific: There are 27 domain specific subjects in this section. Candidates are required to refer to the program specific eligibility criteria in order to select domain specific subjects. 
  • Section 3 General Test: General test for any UG programme offered by the university where the general test is being used for admission. Candidates must refer to the program specific eligibility criteria for selecting general tests.

Lady Irwin College PG Admission 2023

Lady Irwin College offers PG curriculum in various courses such as B.Ed, M.Sc and PG Diploma courses. Only PG Diploma course is provided for 1 year, B.Ed and M.Sc courses are offered for 2 years. These courses are offered in various specialisations. To be eligible for the PG curriculums, students must pass graduation with the minimum marks required. Selection will be done on the basis of merit and CUET PG scores.

Lady Irwin College PG Eligibility Criteria

  • For B.Ed courses, candidates need to qualify graduation from a recognized university.
  • To meet the eligibility criteria for the PG Diploma course, students must pass graduation with at least 55% marks in aggregate in a B.Sc. Home Science/ Food Technology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Nursing/ MBBS from a recognised university .
  • For M.Sc, applicants should have passed graduation with 55% marks in aggregate in B.Sc. (H) or equivalent degree course from a recognised university.

Lady Irwin College PG Selection Process

  • For B.Ed courses, students need to qualify the DU BED Entrance Test.
  • For PG Diploma, selection will be granted on the basis of marks obtained in entrance exam conducted by the University
  • For M.Sc course, selection is done on merit basis for 60% seats available and for remaining 40% seats, admission is done on the basis of marks secured in entrance exam conducted by Delhi University.

Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) Admission Process 2023

Delhi University has introduced the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for admission to UG courses for all its affiliated colleges. The entire process is explained below:

Phase 1: CSAS Application Form

  • Aspirants are required to fill the CSAS application form on the centralized admission portal by paying a one-time non-refundable application fee.
  • ECA and sports quota candidates will have to pay an additional fee.

Phase 2: Selection of Courses and College Preferences

  • Second phase will start after the results of the CUET examination are declared.
  • After the CUET Result declaration, eligible candidates will have to select the courses and fill the preference of desired colleges on the centralised CSAS portal.

Phase 3: Seat Allocation and Final Admission

  • Merit list will be declared on the basis of CUET scores.
  • Multiple rounds of seat allotment will be conducted. 
  • Candidates will have to check if they have been allotted a seat on the CSAS dashboard. If allotted, candidates must accept their seat on or before the given date for that particular round.
  • Seat allocation will be based on multiple factors such as - combination of college and program chosen, position of the candidate on the merit list, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.
  • Upon acceptance of seat, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the payment of fee.
