Ans
Ashutosh College is known for many things. Here are some of them.  It has a rich legacy. Many freedom fighters are from this college.  The institute also offers good academics to students. NAAC has accredited the institute with an A grade.  There are new departments of modern education like Microbiology, Communicative English. Many departments of the institute are quite reputed, such as English, Geography, Journalism & Mass Communication, Bangali, Psychology.  The facilities offered at the institute are decent. What is the cutoff for a B Stat at Asutosh College Kolkata?

● Top Answer By Senjuti Roy on 25 Oct 21

Ans
The required prerequisite for doing a B.Stat at Asutose College is 50% in the 12th standard. Having Statistics/Mathematics in your 10+2 is mandatory. Students who have passed the 10+2 or equivalent examination and have also passed the English test with full marks of not less than 100 are eligible to apply. If you have a lapse of more than 3 years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination or the cessation of a recognized regular Course of Study after passing the previous qualifying test, then you are not eligible to apply. To determine eligibility for admission to the Honors Course, add the marks in the top four subjects. Marks obtained in mandatory Environmental Education/Studies, on the other hand, will not be factored into the final grade. You must have a minimum of 50% in aggregate and pass Mathematics. Students from the SC/ST or OBC categories need to have a minimum of 40% in the previous qualifying examination.

Is Asutosh college good for statistics honours?

● Top Answer By Saunak Guha on 19 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends from the Statistics department. Based on the things I heard from them, I will say the department is quite great. Professors are well-qualified, strict and they never miss any scheduled class. Attendance is taken seriously in the department. You won’t be able to slack off. You also have to study seriously for the tests. Because if you fail in sectionals, you won’t be able to sit for finals.

Ans
My brother graduated from Asutosh College. Here are his insights. You will get enough study leaves. Utilize them well. That way you will be able to enjoy your college life and also score decent marks in examinations. The faculties are quite knowledgeable. You can reach out to them regarding any doubts.  It is located at the heart of bustling southern Kolkata. You can get to the college via all sorts of public transport. Contrary to the general misconception, there are regular classes. Make sure that you attend all your honors classes, they are very important. The laboratories are well-equipped with good facilities.  You will have access to three libraries, i.e. main library, departmental libraries, and the reading library in the annex building.  Be prepared to stand in long queues, whether you are waiting for the examination forms or mark sheets. Overall, the college will definitely help you grow.

Which college is better for economics hons Scottish Church College or Asutosh College?

● Top Answer By Atanu Bandyopadhyay on 25 Oct 21

Ans
My elder brother was accepted to both colleges in Eco(Hons) this year, and he eventually chose Scottish Church. Here's why. Even if the faculties of both departments are almost equal, classes in Ashutosh are irregular, and the union has too much ownership. Inside the premises, the atmosphere for a first-year student isn't great. Unlike Ashutosh, the admissions process at Scottish Church is uncomplicated and administered by the department. However, both are under CU, and if you're familiar with the marking scheme, they're identical. You must rely on tuition regarding your studies in Ashutosh as teachers will be of little help. So, choosing Scottish Church College will be better.

Ques

How is Asutosh College for a B Sc honors in physics What about the admission process?

● Top Answer By Dhruv Roy on 25 Oct 21

Ans
I have a few friends from Asuthose College. Here are their insights regarding the Physics department.  Faculty- Ashutosh College has a fantastic faculty. Both in terms of qualifications and knowledge. But keep in mind that a good qualification does not guarantee that a person will be a good teacher. This is where Ashutosh College falls short. Campus life- If you’re searching for a campus life similar to that of Jadavpur University, Ashutosh College is not for you. Even if there is no college campus, but you can still experience a taste of campus life. Alumni- Despite being a middle-ranking college in Kolkata, Ashutosh College has consistently produced excellent students. Many of them have a JAM rank of 50 or higher. Many of them are enrolled in renowned Indian and international institutions. Labs- The labs are the worst aspect of the department. Instruments are outdated reason being lack of funds for state colleges. The facilities are not very good. Connectivity- Keep in mind that you will be doing the majority of your studying from home while at CU, so choose an institution that is close to your house and has metro access. Ashutosh college is located near Jatin Das Park metro. Overall, Asutose College is a decent option for pursuing B.Sc in Physics, if you have no other options.

Ques

What is the cutoff of biochemistry in the Asutosh College?

● Top Answer By Sangita Roy on 25 Oct 21

Ans
It is usually determined by your Biology and Chemistry grades. Typically, the cutoff is not particularly high. It’s between 87 and 89 percent. It also varies from year to year based on the results of the board. However, if your score is higher than 87–88 percent, your name will almost certainly appear on the cutoff list. As there are only a few colleges in Kolkata (under Calcutta University) that provide biochemistry as a bachelor’s degree. So, you should definitely go for it if you get admission. The biochemistry department of Asutosh College is outstanding. There are 3 post-doctorate faculties and two Ph.D. faculties on campus. Teachers are also quite supportive.

Ques

Is Asutosh College good for economics honours?

● Top Answer By Ishita Roy on 25 Oct 21

Ans
I have friends from Asutosh College and according to them, the Economics department is quite good. But, professors will not be of any use unless you attend lectures every day. You will need to find the best tuition and put in twice as much effort as folks from other universities. To maintain decent grades, one of my friends changed three coachings and joined various libraries. Don't join Asutosh College if you've relied heavily on school teachers your entire school life, and only join if you're confident you can put in the effort day and night to produce your own notes and edit the ones your tuition teachers offer you. Otherwise, the ambiance of the institute is good. Classes are held regularly. Overall, Asutose College is a decent choice if you want to pursue Economics honors.
