You should decide which option is best for you. However, you should keep in mind that, doing a B.Sc Hons degree in Psychology will not offer many job opportunities. There are many students with such degrees and very few job possibilities. On the other hand, doing a B.Tech in CSE from AOT will give you three options. You can choose to go for higher studies. You can get decent job offers in the technical and non-technical fields after you complete your degree. 

Among Loreto College or Shri Shikshayatan College in Kolkata, the former is said to be better.  The cutoffs here are high and they have very limited seats.  General category students only have 25 official seats.  Their English department is said to be the best in Kolkata.  They have an excellent faculty comprising talented members with years of educational experience. Shri Shikshayatan is a bit liberal and gives students enough freedom to explore, on the other hand Loreto is completely opposite. It is very strict and disciplined. They keep their students in check most of the time.

Loreto is one of the best girls colleges in Kolkata which is extremely disciplined and strict when it comes to academics.  Psychology is one of the most in-demand courses after English. The faculty of the Psychology department has the most experienced teachers with 12-18 years of teaching experience. Some also work as Therapists and Counsellors in government clinics and hospitals. The lab is also well equipped with the latest tools and machinery. The overall performance of the department every year in the University exams has also been really good. Definitely go for this college if you want to make a career in the field of psychology.

Both Loreto College and Shri Shikshayatan College are the most reputed all-girls colleges in Kolkata. Choosing any one of them will prove to be a good step up for your career. Loreto College is popular for its English Honours course. It is more strict compared to any other college. Students here have to maintain a 80% attendance, failing which you will not be able to sit for the examination. Also for subjects with practicals, students have to maintain a 100% attendance in labs. The faculty of the English department is highly experienced with some professors having 15-20 years of educational experience. Shri Shikshayatan College is a bit more liberal than Loreto. It is not so strict about certain rules and students have the freedom to explore. The attendance, dress code, academics, etc. are much more lenient than Loreto. But according to the education provided both are equally good. Choose the one that meets all your requirements, as only that can give you a fulfilling college life.

Loreto is a better option for doing a B.Sc degree in Psychology. Loreto offers great academics. The faculties are well-qualified and helpful. They will help you with your doubts even after class. However, you should know that Loreto is quite strict regarding its rules and regulations. If you don’t have any issues with their rules, you can easily fit in. 

Among the colleges mentioned, Loreto is definitely the better choice. It has been consistent with its academic excellence and discipline. The Economics department of the college is one of the best with excellent faculty. Also, Loreto has witnessed university toppers from this department before. If you are getting Loreto, you should go for it. 

Lady Brabourne is comparably better for a Political Science (Hons). It is one of the top colleges in Kolkata. The faculty base is great. However, it is quite difficult to get admission at the institute as the number of seats is limited. They are also quite strict regarding attendance. Loreto College is also one of the most reputed colleges in Kolkata. And both Lady Brabourne and Loreto come under Calcutta University. So, you will take the same examinations and go through the same evaluation process. 

Among Loreto and Bethune, the former is a better option for pursuing a UG Psychology degree. The Psychology department has a great faculty base. Also, since Calcutta University has introduced the CBCS system, it is not that difficult to score decent marks. The brand name of Loreto also helps your CV stands out. 

Jesus Mary College is a better option than Loreto College in CU. it offers a better peer group. JM College boasts of a brilliant faculty base. The professors are well-experienced and have years of expertise in their respective fields. It offers good infrastructural facilities. JM College has a 3-floor library with a huge collection of books. The departmental labs are well-equipped with latest technology. Many reputed companies such as Deloitte, KPMG, Royal Bank of Scotland, etc. take part in the campus placement of JM college. 

As one of my friends studied in Loreto College Kolkata, let me share some facts about it: Loreto College is one of the reputed institutions in Kolkata. It is famous for its English and Humanities department, but Economics is also brilliant here as well. There are a lot of seminars, the most prominent being Ecolore which is the department's annual event.  The teachers are very helpful and cordial.  If you want to pursue Economics, Loreto College will not disappoint you.
