IMU MPC review

What I Liked

The permanent faculty is highly qualified

What I didn’t like

The infrastructure is Deteoriating and lack of up to date equipments

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum prepares the student adequately with frequent visits to the nearby dock in the last semester to get actual practical experience on the machinery which the cadet has to work on later on in their life

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for placement from the third year. Many well known companies visit . Also because to the limited strength of each batch most of the students are placed before they pass out from the college.

IMU MPC review

What I Liked

The rooms are better than most hotels, but for a reason
The actual hostel building is under repair, so the students have been moved to a post sea hostel, for sea ferrers
The private canteen and sea views from the hostels are great

What I didn’t like

Might be the problem of the current management, but the buildings are always aber repair and the noise is too much
Low frequency of extra curricular events
The anti ragging policy of the college relies on villianising and demeaning the seniors infront of the freshers so they fear speaking to the seniors. Even normal conversations are treated as ragging in the campus

Course Curriculum Overview:

I've personally wanted to join merchant Navy, so i choose this course. The University decision to conduct arrear exams mid semester was good too, as it divides the load of the end semester and arrears exams. The syllabus is managed by the headquarters from Chennai, so no comments on that

Placement Experience:

(This is answered in the last step though) There are lots of on campus placements. The placement officers have links in shipping companies that hire the students on campus. Off campus placements are common too
