I chose this course as I want to be a game/ software developer. Faculty to students ratio is approx 1:8. Qualification is undisclosed by the professors. Their teaching techniques are very basic and traditional. One might add that it's not much beneficial for the students. Exams are very frequently taken by the university which is the only good thing I can see as for now.

Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University is an engineering university that offers various programs like engineering, management, and other affiliated programs in its various institutions and departments. One of my friends has graduated from MAKAUT and has shared some details about the institution with me.
- The University is prominently known for providing the best facilities to the students.
- It is all equipped with basic necessities like proper wifi, a proper canteen, and a good library.
- Moreover, they have hostels for both girls and boys.
- The university has good laboratory facilities, lecture centers, and a proper medical room for people in need.

The students get opportunities to work with MNCs. Top-notch companies visit colleges for placements. Companies like, IBM, CTS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, TCS, Capgemini, Subex, LNT with a good amount of packages. Students may get an average of more than 5 LPA.
The Colleges under Makaut are much better than Aliah University in all respects. They have a better curriculum, experienced faculty and provide students with the proper exposure and opportunities required to build their career.
If you have a rank around 10,000 in WBJEE, then you can opt for colleges like Techno India, IEM, Heritage Institute of Technology, Meghnad Shah, Netaji, etc.
But if your rank is enough to qualify for these colleges, then you can go for Aliah University. The placements here are not up to the mark but if you work hard you can sit for off-campus placements and secure a job via that.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University and Haldia Institute of Technology both are engineering institutes. Some of my friends have been students of both of the institutes thus, I can provide a clear picture about which one’s better.
- If academics are concerned, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University is much better than Haldia Institute Technology.
- If you are interested in research and development, the Haldia Institute of Technology is preferable.
- There is a report of the third-year students from Haldia, they researched on a material which can help you to store the food for a good amount of time. Well, the students did it almost around practicing for 1100 times.
- But, many students also vote for Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University when it comes to the research field.
Thus the choice ultimately depends on you. Choose which will suit you better, has easier transportation, better infrastructure, and facilities, and will help shape your career as both are equally good.
Techno India Saltlake has been affiliated to Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). As a result, it follows the same syllabus as MAKAUT. Both of these institutes offer good infrastructure but being a private institute Techno India Saltlake has higher course fees. The course fee for B.Tech courses at MAKAUT is Rs. 49,000/- and at Techno India Saltlake it’s Rs. 89,200/-.
According to the recent statistics, Techno India Saltlake offers better placement than MAKAUT especially for CSE or IT department. The average CTC offered to the students at these institutes is around 3-4 LPA. Top recruiters include Infosys Technologies, IBM, WIPRO, Cognizant, etc.
Among these MAKAUT will be a good option for pursuing a BBA. It is well-reputed among students. MAKAUT placements are excellent. BBA students usually receive an average CTC of around INR 3 LPA. IDBI, BYJU’s, Wipro, Amazon, etc. are some of the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive.

The placement scenario in MAKAUT has made a great leap over the past few years. Notably, the number of placements in CSE and IT departments has shown a significant surge.
The placement record at MAKAUT is quite decent compared to the other colleges affiliated to MAKAUT. Before 2018 there used to be 30 seats in the CSE department which increased to 56 from the 2018 batch. More than 50 percent of students manage to secure a job through campus placements from the CSE department.
Renowned companies like Wipro, Infosys, Hitachi Consulting, Innoraft, including others visited the campus for recruitments. While the in-campus placements are significant, many students also opt for off-campus placement like Hackerrank.

Between the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology and Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College, the former will be a better choice to pursue a degree in CSE. As MAKAUT offers better peer group and placement for CSE.
MAKAUT is ranked 157th among the engineering colleges in India by NIRF. The total course fee for B.Tech at the institute is INR 1.9 lakhs. The selection for the CSE program is based on the performance of the students in WBJEE and in 2019 the closing cutoff at the institute was 827-12087. MAKAUT has a placement record closer to 100%. Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College is affiliated to MAKUT. It intakes students for B.Tech CSE through WBJEE. In 2019 the closing cutoff for CSE at the institute was 1595-13780. The total course fee is INR 37,473. The placement cell of JGEC actively participates in placing students in premier companies. According to the 2019 placement statistics, 80% of students got placed. L&T, Tata Consultancy, Tech Mahindra, IBM, TCS, Infosys, Bosch, etc. were among the top recruiters.
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology placements are good for CSE and IT departments. Around 90% of students from these departments get placed through the campus drive. The average salary package offered for these departments is around INR 4 LPA. Companies such as TCS, IBM, Byju’s, Extramarks, Haldia Petrochemical, etc. take part in the placement drive.
