Learning something new is never worthless. The institution’s reputation and popularity is the secondary aspect in a student’s life. Your willingness to learn about new things, enthusiasm towards learning, creating, and developing oneself is a major concern.
West Bengal State University (WBSU) is a really good institution that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In fact, many students also claim that it is much better than any other institutes in West Bengal. They have a huge success story, which tends to draw more and more students every year.
Different colleges set different marks for form submission. If you are willing to take admission for an honors program at WBSU, make sure you have the minimum marks required, i.e., 45 out of 100.
If you want to pursue Zoology Honours, you have to have 45 in Biology in your class 12th examination. But if your Biology marks are less than 45, then you will have to take special permission from the Vice-Chancellor or Registrar of WBSU.
To keep your Honours, you need to score at least 42% in each year’s honors paper. Failing to maintain this might result in losing the honors degree.
West Bengal State University is a decent option for BA, B.Com, and BSc courses. The atmosphere on campus is friendly. The institute has highly qualified professors. Faculties are cooperative. It is still in the development period. There is a lot that needs to be done.
WBSU conducts classes regularly. Examination and results are published on time.
It is quite likely that you will be given the opportunity to sit for both the supplementary paper in the following year. For such situations, your college will put up a notice regarding the same, and will further ask you to fill a form up for the supplementary papers.
Following that, you are expected to have the chance to sit for the exam, as per what will be declared by the administration, in the succeeding year, alongside other papers as well.
However, if you still do not secure the necessary marks after taking the exam, the administration will grant you the graduation certificate, but will still hold you back until you have finally obtained enough marks for final certification.
One of my friends studied at Calcutta University, so I might be able to give you some details about it.
Finally, you should keep in mind that other mentioned universities may not be as old and experienced as CU, but they will show a bit of leniency while giving marks. So ultimately the decision is yours, whether you want to study in a reputed university with a strong and reliable alumni network or opt for the easier way out by getting admission to newer institutions.
No one has ever failed in honors in all the subjects. Most students tend to fail in chemistry, but this also varies a lot. Let me discuss some of the possible reasons, which may answer your question.

Finally, it is really important to know that a student has to complete his or her graduation within 5 years, failing which your registration will be canceled.
Calcutta University is widely reputed all across the nation for academics and research. If you have to choose between West Bengal State University and CU, choose CU. However, you should prioritize your subject over the university. For undergraduate degrees, your subject will matter more than the brand value of the university.
