Course Curriculum Overview:

I just love to solve mathematics problems so that's why I selected the course. In our department there are 12 faculties and 56 students so it's ratio is 1:4.6 or something near that so it is quite good.the teachers interact quite nicely so if anyone has any doubt they can ask them and they clear the doubts passionately The faculties are highly educated and experienced there are some of IITians also and in general they have a MSc degree and most of them have a PhD Exams are pretty difficult though compared to other universities you get more time to prepare so it is up to you how you prepare for the exam

Course Curriculum Overview:

After completing my BA I thought MA would be more valuable for my career as I want to be a professor. So that's why I have chosen this course. We have a total of 5 faculties in our department and near about 60+ students in our batch. So the student-faculty ratio is around one professor per 12 students. All of our faculties are very good. They are qualified and have been teaching for years. Our HOD is very good & friendly to all the students. She always has a smile on her face. Our faculties always elaborately teach every topic. They organize some seminars too. We had to give one semester every 6 months. Exams are easy to pass if anyone studies regularly. But we have a lot of papers and practical projects to complete. Sometimes it becomes hectic & boring.

West Bengal State University - [WBSU]: 7 answered questions

Ques
How is the reputation of West Bengal State University? Is being a student of WBSU bad for the future?

● Top Answer By Trina Mondal, on 20 Oct 21

Ans
Learning something new is never worthless. The institution’s reputation and popularity is the secondary aspect in a student’s life. Your willingness to learn about new things, enthusiasm towards learning, creating, and developing oneself is a major concern. West Bengal State University (WBSU) is a really good institution that offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. In fact, many students also claim that it is much better than any other institutes in West Bengal. They have a huge success story, which tends to draw more and more students every year.

Ques
What are the minimum qualifying marks for zoology hons. in WBSU?

● Top Answer By Rishabh Ghosh, on 20 Oct 21

Ans
Different colleges set different marks for form submission. If you are willing to take admission for an honors program at WBSU, make sure you have the minimum marks required, i.e., 45 out of 100. If you want to pursue Zoology Honours, you have to have 45 in Biology in your class 12th examination. But if your Biology marks are less than 45, then you will have to take special permission from the Vice-Chancellor or Registrar of WBSU. To keep your Honours, you need to score at least 42% in each year’s honors paper. Failing to maintain this might result in losing the honors degree.

Ques
How is WBSU?

● Top Answer By Shreyashi Banerjee on 04 May 22

Ans
West Bengal State University is a decent option for BA, B.Com, and BSc courses. The atmosphere on campus is friendly. The institute has highly qualified professors. Faculties are cooperative. It is still in the development period. There is a lot that needs to be done.  WBSU conducts classes regularly. Examination and results are published on time.

Ques
What will happen if I fail one honors paper and one general paper in the 1st year under WBSU?

● Top Answer By Riya Banerjee on 30 Sept 21

Ans
It is quite likely that you will be given the opportunity to sit for both the supplementary paper in the following year. For such situations, your college will put up a notice regarding the same, and will further ask you to fill a form up for the supplementary papers. Following that, you are expected to have the chance to sit for the exam, as per what will be declared by the administration, in the succeeding year, alongside other papers as well.  However, if you still do not secure the necessary marks after taking the exam, the administration will grant you the graduation certificate, but will still hold you back until you have finally obtained enough marks for final certification.

Ques
Which is the best university to study UG course in chemistry zoology CU, BU, KU or WBSU?

● Top Answer By Saloni Ray, on 20 Oct 21

Ans
One of my friends studied at Calcutta University, so I might be able to give you some details about it. Calcutta University (CU) is one of the oldest functioning institutions in West Bengal. It is popular among students. In Calcutta, most of the colleges are affiliated with CU. The one thing that every CU student is familiar with is their strict grading system. Scoring even a 60% is very difficult. Some students even think this is a good enough score if you are a student of CU. Nowadays top reputed MNCs also demand at least 60% to be able to sit for placements. Finally, you should keep in mind that other mentioned universities may not be as old and experienced as CU, but they will show a bit of leniency while giving marks. So ultimately the decision is yours, whether you want to study in a reputed university with a strong and reliable alumni network or opt for the easier way out by getting admission to newer institutions.

Ques
What happens when I fail all of the subjects in a B.Sc. Hons. at WBSU?

● Top Answer By Pritam Chatterjee, on 20 Oct 21

Ans
No one has ever failed in honors in all the subjects. Most students tend to fail in chemistry, but this also varies a lot. Let me discuss some of the possible reasons, which may answer your question. Failed to Qualify for Honours: If you score below 40% in your honors subject, chances are you will lose it. In this situation, you can either try to repeat another year or proceed with B.Sc. General. Qualified for Honours but failed in any/both general subjects: This happens when you get a score lower than 25% in the general subjects. For this, the board conducts a supplementary exam, passing which you will be able to continue without any year loss. Failing in both Honours and General subjects: This scenario is not seen very often. But if you fail in every subject, you have to start again from the beginning, next year. If you fail consecutive years, then the college might give you a Termination Certificate. Finally, it is really important to know that a student has to complete his or her graduation within 5 years, failing which your registration will be canceled.

Ques
Which university is better: West Bengal State University or Calcutta University?

● Top Answer By Sushmita Biswas on 14 Jun 22

Ans
Calcutta University is widely reputed all across the nation for academics and research. If you have to choose between West Bengal State University and CU, choose CU. However, you should prioritize your subject over the university. For undergraduate degrees, your subject will matter more than the brand value of the university.
