Kuvempu University offers a Master of Arts program in various specializations through 2 different departments namely the school of language, Literature, and fine-Arts departments, and secondly the school of the social science department.

The selection of the candidates applying for Journalism and mass communication will be done based on the entrance test and the academic qualifying examination. Admissions to the remaining courses are done on the basis of marks obtained in the last qualifying exam.

The university offers MA across 9 specializations with a duration of 2 years spread into 4 semesters. The course curriculum of all the courses is well-structured with mandatory project work during the last semester. Core and elective subjects are included in the curriculum. Ques. What is the exam pattern of the entrance test conducted by Kuvempu University for M.A. in Journalism and mass communication admission?
Ans. The entrance test consists of 100 objective type questions, each consisting of 1 mark. The questions will be based on current affairs, general knowledge, and mass media. The duration of the test will be of 90 minutes. Marks distribution for the merit list will be done as follows:

Ques. What is the application process for the NRI/foreign students seeking PG admission for the postgraduate programs at Kuvempu University?
Ans. The foreign nationals can submit the application form directly to the registrar for admission. They can apply online or through post or personally with a valid passport and relevant documents.
After the verification of documents, the university will issue the admission letter for the student and then the student has to pay the application fees of 100$ through bank transfer.
Then after the payment is done, the university will issue the admission for the Visa process. After that, the student can seek final admission after doing the payment of 600$ as prescribed by the university.
Ques. What is the minimum percentage of marks for different categories of students at Kuvempu University?
Ans. Following is the minimum eligibility marks criteria for the students based on different categories:

Ans. Out of the 100 marks in each subject, 25% marks are rewarded based on the continuous evaluation (internal assessment) and 75% are marked based on the semester-end examination. The term-end exams are evaluated by two examiners and the marks awarded are the average of these 2 evaluations.

Ques. Does Kuvempu University provide any financial assistance to the candidates of MA?
Ans. Yes, the university provides financial assistance in possible manners. The students belonging to the SC/ST categories and whose annual income is less than INR 2,50,000/- are exempted from tuition fees, lab fees, and other administration fees. The students are required to pay only the fees prescribed in the detailed brochure.
The students under CAT-1( having annual income less than INR 2,50,000/-) and the students under Categories. II(A), II(B), III(A) and III(B) (and has annual income less than INR 1,00,000/-) are exempted from the payment of Tuition Fee, Laboratory Fee, Library Fee, Sports Fee. the students are required to pay only the fees prescribed in the detailed brochure.
