Candidates, who have studied English as an Optional Subject in their Graduation, are eligible to apply for the MA English program
Candidates, who have studied English as only a subject during their Bachelor’s, are also eligible for the MA English program
Irrespective of the eligibility pointed above, one needs to have a minimum 55% aggregate in their Graduation. In the case of SC/ST, the minimum percentage to get eligible is 45%

Selection Criteria:

Selection to the MA (English) course at Kuvempu University is done on the basis of merit in the last qualifying examination. After submitting all the Semester Marks, the Admission Committee of the university will verify all the mark sheets and certificates. Upon verification, the university will publish a consolidated merit list, in descending order of merit based on the percentage of marks secured by the candidates in the qualifying examination. Eligible and Interested candidates need to present themselves physically during the counseling with all the documents. Kuvempu University MA (English) Program Details - Curriculum and Syllabus

The MA English Program is spread across 2 Years which contain 4 Semesters
In 1st Year Each semester has 6 Papers, and Each semester contains 30 Credits, in total 60 Credits in 1st Year
Followed by 2nd Semester candidates are required to select Elective Courses each semester
In the 3rd Semester it has 26 credits and in the 4th Semester it the course contains 24 Credits followed by a compulsory Dissertation of 6 credits
To get eligible for the End Semester Examination one needs to have a minimum of 75% attendance
Students get Elective Papers from Semester 2 till 3rd. In the 2nd Semester, they get Film Studies, whereas in the 3rd Semester they get Meaning in Indian Cinema

Program Structure:

Hard Core Papers: To get familiar with the Modern and Ancient forms of English around the ERA and WORLD, Hard Core Papers are there to help students to get an overview of English as Literature.

Softcore Papers: After understanding the core and root of English Literature, Softcore Papers help once to apply those principles in various contexts.

Elective Papers: At Kuvempu University Elective Papers are set in keeping the view to Utilise the theoretical knowledge in the art of Film and Storytelling.

Dissertation: Every final semester students need to undergo a Dissertation, where they need to Assist Faculty Members on certain Projects and one may even publish their papers by the time they get Graduate.
