Bhandarkars Arts and Science College was established in 1963. The aim of the college is to meet the demand of the university education and make it available to the poorest sections of the rural community and also to create a sense of awareness among the students.

- The four storied library building has a well equipped audio visual hall, a seminar hall, and art gallery in addition to the reference section, a general reading hall and a separate reading hall for lady students, news paper section, a separate wing for periodicals and journals, internet section and stack section
