Jammu University is accepting M.Ed Admission through JUET.  Jammu University offers a full-time Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs for a duration of 2 years. The program deals with the methodology of educational research and experimentation of new techniques of teaching. The minimum eligibility to apply for M.Ed. program offered at Jammu University is a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.

The varsity selects the candidates for its M.Ed. program through Jammu University Entrance Exam (JUET).

Jammu University M.Ed. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the M.Ed. course offered at Jammu University shall fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • Must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the B.Ed (Bachelor of education) examination from any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation in qualifying examination marks will be given to SC/ST candidates.
  • Must qualify for JUET.

How to apply?

To register for the Jammu University M.Ed. program, applicants need to fill the Jammu university application form online available on the official website of the varsity.

  • Visit the official website of Jammu University @jammuuniversity.ac.in.
  • Register yourself using email id and phone numbers. Once registered, you will receive a user ID and password.
  • Log in using the user ID and password and fill in all the necessary details as prescribed in the application form.
  • Candidates need to upload a scanned copy of their recent passport size photograph and a digital copy of their signature along with the other mandatory documents on the online registration portal.
  • After filling the form, pay the required application form fee through online payment means such as credit card, debit card, or net banking.

Course Duration: The minimum duration of the M.Ed. course offered at Jammu University is 2 years divided into 4 semesters and the maximum duration is of 4 years divided into 8 semesters.

I have a few friends from Jammu University and according to them the process to get transcripts from the university is quite simple. 

  • You will need to visit the administration block of Jammu University. 
  • Get the form and fill out the details of the degree for which you want transcripts.
  • Attach proof of passing the said degree from Jammu University. It needs to be duly attested by your departmental head.
  • Submit the required fee.
  • Give the details of the agency or the institute where you want to send your transcripts clearly and you are done. 

Your transcripts should be ready to dispatch within 15 days or so, depending on the pending work.

A few of my friends graduated from the University of Jammu. Here is their advice. 

  • Get to know your university area well, your classrooms, your libraries, etc. Dhanvantri library is quite famous. 
  • Attend your classes regularly. Jammu University is quite strict about attendance, results, etc. So, make sure you start focusing on your studying from the beginning of your course.
  • The faculties and the staff at the university are quite cooperative. 
  • Have proper strategy and timetable from the very beginning, if you want to score well in examinations.

Here are some possible reasons that can be ascribed to the lower rank of Jammu University. 

  • The quality of education offered by the university needs improvement. 
  • The university needs to provide proper guidance and counseling to students regarding placements and internships. 
  • Lake of proper administration is another contributing factor. 
  • Kashmir University has a better faculty base compared to Jammu University.

There are a lot of things that you can do at Jammu University during weekends. 

  • If you stay on the university campus, you can take membership and permission to access courts and games at the university stadium.
  • Most students prefer to study at the central library of Jammu.
  • You can visit the nearest tourist places like Mansar Surinsar Lakes, Mata Vaishno Devi Temple, Shiv Khori in Reasi district, Gharana wetland at RS Pura, etc. 
  • If you love movies, there are multiplexes within a 4-5 km radius of the university.

It entirely depends on which course you are choosing. However, overall DU is definitely better than PU and Jammu University.

The academics and faculty base are almost the same at these universities. However, academics are not the only influencing factor in the overall development of students. Curriculum, exposure, and other additional things also play crucial roles.  

At DU, you will have great exposure. DU has many societies like dance society, fashion society, debating society, etc. If you have any passion, you can explore it at DU.  The peer group at DU is also better. 

If we speak generally, for the given institutes, your preference order should be DU>PU>Jammu University.
