Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) or IPU admission process typically begins in the month of March or April. Candidates who wish to apply for admission to any of the programs offered by IPU can apply online on the official website of the university. IPU offers over 50 programs at the UG, PG, and Research levels. Admissions at IPU are based on Common Entrance Test (IPU CET), conducted by the university, or scores obtained in the national-level entrance examinations.

Admission to UG and PG courses will also be done through the common university entrance test (CUET), conducted by NTA. The preference will be given to IPU CET and national-level test scores for respective programs and CUET scores will be given second preference. For admission to BTech, B.Arch, B.Des, BALLB/BBALLB, and Medical courses, candidates are required to appear in the JEE Main, NATA, UCEED, CLAT UG, and NEET examinations, respectively. For the final selection, a merit list will be based on the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination and the entrance examination conducted by the university. IPU UG Admission 2023

IPU offers various UG programs through its affiliated colleges in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Law, Management, Pharmacy, Medicine, Etc. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is to complete 10+2 from a recognised board of education. Admission to all UG programs at IPU is done on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance examination followed by counselling conducted by the university. The table below lists all the UG programs offered at IPU along with their eligibility and selection process:

IPU offers various PG programs through in the discipline of Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Education, Law, Management, Etc. The basic eligibility criteria for admission is to complete bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institute. Admission to all PG programs at IPU is done on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance examination. The table below lists all the PG programs offered at IPU along with their eligibility and selection process:

IPU Ph.D. Admission 2023

IPU offers Ph.D. in various specialization at Doctorate level. Master’s degree with 55% marks in aggregate in the relevant discipline is the minimum eligibility criteria for admission. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the score in UGC NET / CSIR NET followed by Interview and Counselling.

IPU application process for admission to all courses is completely online. Candidates can follow the below-mentioned steps in order to apply for admission at IPU:

Step 1: Vist the official website of IPU - ipu.ac.in

Step 2: Go to the Admission Section on the homepage and click on “Apply Online”

Step 3: Click on “IPU Registration 2023” to proceed further

Step 4: Click on “Fresh Candidate Registration” in order to signup at IPU admission portal

Step 5: Read the terms and conditions carefully and click on “I Agree” to proceed further

Step 6: Fill in the necessary details like Name, Mobile No, Email ID, and create your user id and password

Step 7: Click on Submit button and you’ll be redirected to the login page
Step 8: Now, log in using you user id and password
Step 8: Fill the application form by providing General and Professional Information along with Payment details
Step 9: Upload the scanned copies of the required documents
Step 10: Verify the details you have provided in the form and check the Declaration box

Other Colleges I Applied To - 1. DTU (Delhi Technological University): Applied but couldn't secure a seat 2. NSIT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology): Also applied but missed out on admissions 3. Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT): Got an offer, but it was much far. 4. Amity University: Offered admission, but I didn’t choose it due to high fees Why GGSIPU Over Others? 1. Cost-Effective: GGSIPU's fee structure was far more reasonable compared to private instituitions 2. Reputation: While not on the level of DTU or NSIT, GGSIPU had a decent name in Delhi-NCR, especially in engineering, and this mattered a lot in terms of ROI 3. Proximity: Staying closer to home was also a personal preference Why I Didn't Make It to DTU or NSIT? 1. JEE Mains Rank: Both DTU and NSIT required a higher JEE Mains rank than I could manage. I was close but missed the cutoff due to intense competition. 2. Reservation and Seat Quotas: Being from the general category without any specific state quota, the competition was extremely tough. Admission Process of GGSIPU: 1. Eligibility: Completing 12th grade with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and securing at least 55% in these subjects. 2. Exams Accepted: Exam for admission was IPU CET (Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test). Some courses also considered JEE Mains scores, particularly for B.Tech programs. 3. Cutoffs: The cutoffs varied by branch, with Computer Science and IT being the most competitive, often closing at lower ranks. 4. Overall Admission Experience: It was fairly straightforward. It’s normal for you to get confused between DU and IPU. Both are well-reputed universities with high cutoffs. Choosing one of them can be made easy if you go through these differences:

Colleges: DU colleges are famous for their high cutoffs. If you have scored 97 and above you will surely get admission to an A-grade college. But anything below 97 (even a 95) will send you to a B-grade college. So it’s better to study in an A-grade college at IPU than in a B-grade college of DU.
Admission criteria: At DU, admissions are based on board exams, whereas at IPU you will have to give a CET (Common Entrance Test).
Internships: All the universities recommend internships but IPU has made it compulsory. These internships not only build your CV but might also give you full-time jobs.
Freelancing: At IPU most students prefer freelancing or part-time jobs to support their profession. The classes end early around 1 pm. Whereas in DU the timings of the classes vary a lot due to which you cannot spare time for freelancing much.
Fees: Pursuing a professional course at IPU will cost you more than that at DU. This is because of its excellent infrastructure and facilities.
Specialisation: DU is well known for its theoretical subjects like English, History, and Geography. Whereas IPU specializes in vocational courses like B. Tech, Journalism and Mass Communication, BBA, BCA, and MBA.

These points stand to prove that IPU is a better option if you are pursuing a professional course.

Choose MSIT if you want to prioritize degree value over cost. Otherwise, go with SRM. MSIT CSE placements are excellent, but if you live in a politically neutral environment with large campuses, consider SRM, Chennai.

Technical societies, such as IEEE, are very active, and if you are fortunate enough to be a part of them, it is better for you in terms of placement and 'knowledge building.

If you are serious about expanding your knowledge, there are a few amazing teachers as well as seniors who can assist and guide you. It is entirely up to you to make the most of the available opportunities.

Having friends who study in both colleges, I can assure you that, there is no comparison of Sharda University with any IPU colleges unless it is low rated.

If you are taking your studies seriously you should consider entering colleges affiliated with IP University.
But Sharda University offers amazing placement and internship opportunities as they have good tie-ups with few top companies.
You can do good even at Sharda University if you are good at self-study and can get motivated on your own.
The positive side of Sharda University is that it has a great crowd.

There are alumni at Sharda University who are unemployed. Even a number of graduate students from IPU are still searching for jobs. There are students at both of these universities who have reached heights in technological fields.

If you want a strong core teaching and complete study environment, go for IPU. If you are happy with your studies and want to have a bit of a relaxed college life Sharda University is your spot.

Some teachers are not very good with their teaching methods. One of the best professors at Thapar is Mannek sir, he is a mechanics teacher.
One of the best things you will encounter while studying at Thapar University is the senior mentors. They are like siblings and help you with everything.

According to the reviews online, the majority of the students said it is not a good option to pursue MBA from IP University, Delhi.

Here are some reasons why:

More focus is given on theoretical preparation than the practicals. Students often complain about the incomplete training.
If you wish to learn about your course, it will not provide you with the satisfaction. Because mostly students tend to mug up last year’s questions and answer books.
Scoring is easy even if you study only 2-4 days before the exam.
The same 10-15 questions are repeated every year.
If you want to build yourself, you mostly have to do it all on your own, because the college won't make much effort.
Placements here are average. Only the top 10 students are usually given access to sit for the placements.

Therefore a lot of students do not get the proper opportunities to get a job. If you are willing to work on your own and are confident enough, then only opt for IP University, Delhi.

One of my friends studied at YMCA while my sister studied at IPU. I can share their experiences and let's see who won:

YMCA receives a lot of good companies each year.
IPU receives IT firms most often with a package of INR 3.25 LPA. The only highlight of IPU is Microsoft.
As a CS or IT, you will find it to your liking. In YMCA Amazon, Maruti, Adobe, Snapdeal, Yamaha, and many more reputed companies come to hire B.Tech graduates.

Placement is what matters to most, however, it's not the only parameter of comparison but because YMCA tops in placements which is an essential factor nevertheless, it wins!
