GGSIPU Admission Dates

The 2026-27 admission schedule for most GGSIPU courses has already ended. For the next session, the university is expected to begin IPU-CET 2027 registration in February 2027.

GGSIPU Courses and Fees

GGSIPU runs more than 176 programmes through 13 university schools and 111 affiliated colleges. The Delhi Fee Regulatory Committee, SFRC, regulates the fees and revises them through official Delhi Gazette notifications. Major course fees for the full programme duration are listed below.

MBBS in GGSIPU-affiliated private medical colleges costs much more than government medical colleges because these are self-financed institutions regulated by the SFRC. For affiliated B.Tech colleges, the SFRC standardised the fee through the Delhi Gazette notification dated July 14, 2025.

GGSIPU Admission Process

For most courses, GGSIPU uses IPU-CET, which means IP University Common Entrance Test. The university does not take JEE Main, CUET, or CAT scores for admission to B.Tech, BBA, or MBA. Seat allotment for university schools and affiliated colleges is handled through one online counselling portal.

B.Tech Admission (IPU-CET Engineering)

For B.Tech, admission is based on IPU-CET Engineering scores and Class 12 PCM marks through a combined merit formula.

• Eligibility: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with at least 45% aggregate
• Exam: IPU-CET (Engineering), held every year in April/May
• Selection: Merit prepared from IPU-CET score and Class 12 marks
• Counselling: Online preference-based counselling through the GGSIPU portal

For USICT, which is the most competitive school, IPU-CET Engineering closing ranks for CSE and IT in the General category have usually been within the top 200 to 500 ranks. Closing ranks at affiliated colleges vary across a wider range.

Law Admission (IPU-CET Law)

IPU-CET Law scores are used for BA LLB, BBA LLB, and 3-year LLB admission. Within GGSIPU, USLLS, or the University School of Law and Legal Studies, is the most preferred law school.

• 5-year integrated courses: 10+2 in any stream with at least 45%
• 3-year LLB: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with at least 45%
• Exam: IPU-CET (Law)
• Selection: IPU-CET merit list followed by online counselling

Management and BCA Admission

BBA and MBA admission is done through the IPU-CET Management score. For BCA, the university uses the IPU-CET IT score. USMS, the Faculty of Management Studies at GGSIPU, is the main management school of the university.

• BBA/BCA: 10+2 in any stream with at least 45%, IPU-CET
• MBA: Bachelor’s degree with 50%, IPU-CET MBA

MBBS Admission (NEET UG)

For MBBS seats in GGSIPU-affiliated private medical colleges, students need NEET UG scores. Seat allotment is done through MCC AACCC counselling and state-level Directorate General of Health Services, DGHS, counselling for GGSIPU quota seats.

GGSIPU Placements

GGSIPU has a Central Placement Cell for recruitment across its university schools. Placement activity is stronger in USICT for IT and Computer Science, USMS for Management, and USLLS for Law. Results differ by school and by affiliated college.

In the 2024-25 placement season, the University School of Information and Communication Technology, USICT, recorded the highest package of INR 27 LPA and an average package of INR 6.69 LPA. During the same period, the University School of Applied Sciences, USAR, reported an average package of INR 6.11 LPA.

USICT saw participation from more than 70 companies in 2024-25, with 187 placement offers made. Recruiters mainly came from IT services, BFSI, and e-commerce. Many USLLS graduates choose legal practice, corporate law firms, or civil services instead of campus placement.

GGSIPU Rankings

GGSIPU appears in several NIRF 2025 categories. Its Law ranking is its strongest listed performance and places it among the top institutions in Delhi for legal education.

For Law in NIRF 2025, GGSIPU is the 3rd ranked university in NCT of Delhi. Its A++ NAAC grade, awarded in 2023, is also an important quality marker for a state-funded affiliating university in Delhi. The Engineering rank reflects only the performance of USICT, the university school, and does not cover affiliated colleges.

GGSIPU Scholarships

GGSIPU provides fee concession and scholarship help to students who are meritorious or from economically weaker backgrounds. These include university-level support and government schemes available to enrolled students.

Students apply for EWS and Merit-cum-Means financial assistance through the GGSIPU Samarth portal during admission. Government scholarship forms are handled through the National Scholarship Portal, NSP.

GGSIPU Campus and Infrastructure

GGSIPU’s main campus is in Sector 16C, Dwarka, West Delhi. Students can reach it through the Delhi Metro using Dwarka Sector 10 and Dwarka Sector 21 stations on the Blue Line and Airport Express Line. The campus includes the central administration and several university schools of studies.

GGSIPU works as a teaching-cum-affiliating university. Along with the university schools on the main campus, its 111 affiliated institutions across Delhi NCR run GGSIPU-affiliated courses. Students in affiliated colleges study at their own campuses but follow the curriculum and exam schedule of GGSIPU.

• Affiliated Institutions: 111 across Delhi NCR, including 83 self-financed institutions and the remaining government and aided institutions
• Programmes Offered: 176+ across all university schools and affiliated colleges
• Hostel: Hostel facilities are available at the main campus and at selected affiliated institutions

Since its establishment in 1998, the Dwarka campus has added major academic and student facilities. It has modern lecture halls, computer labs, a central library, sports facilities, and student amenity centres in the university school buildings.

GGSIPU vs Amity University vs Jamia Millia Islamia

Students considering GGSIPU for B.Tech, law, or management in Delhi NCR often compare it with Amity University Noida and Jamia Millia Islamia. Amity University Noida is a private deemed university, while Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university in South Delhi. The three institutions attract many of the same applicants in the NCR region.

GGSIPU has the widest college network among the three, with 111 affiliated institutions across Delhi NCR. Jamia Millia Islamia has much lower fees because it is a central university and also has a stronger NIRF path in engineering and social sciences. Amity University Noida gives students a private residential campus with international exposure, but its fees are higher. The right choice depends on the course, fee budget, and preferred campus setting.
