Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University offers BA degree in several specializations such as Liberal Arts, Economics, English, JMC, etc. The minimum requirement to apply for GGSIPU BA degree is minimum 50% marks in class 12th examinations from a board recognized from the university and must have passed English as a core subject. This is a full-time program which ranges for a duration of 3 years and consists of 6 semesters. The admission is granted based on the rank obtained in the written test/CET.

GGSIPU BA Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for admission at Indraprastha University for B.A. course must fulfil the given below criteria:

Students applying for BA (JMC) and BA (English) must have passed 10+2 examinations with 50% aggregate marks from a board recognized from the university and must have passed English as a core subject.
Students applying for BA (Economics) must have passed 10+2 examinations with 50% aggregate marks from a board recognized from the university and must have passed English and Maths as a core subject.

GGSIPU BA Admission Process

Admission to BA programs at IPU is based on scores obtained in the IPU Common Entrance Test (IPU CET). The university also accepts Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) scores for admission. The first preference will be given to IPU CET and national-level test scores for respective programs and CUET scores will be given second preference. Candidates who qualify the entrance exam will be called for counselling. Based on the cutoff released by the university, candidates will be allotted seats.

Fill the application form by providing General and Professional Information along with Payment details.
Upload the scanned copies of desired documents.
Verify the details you have provided in the form and check the Declaration box.
Submit the application form and note User ID & Password.
Pay the application fee (INR 1500) by Credit/ Debit Card or through Net-Banking.
After fee submission, course details along with transaction ID will be displayed.

GGSIPU BA Course Structure

The B.A. program is offered in mainly four categories: Journalism & Mass Communication, Liberal Arts, English, and Economics.
The program has a duration of three years and is divided into six semesters. The odd semester begins in June and ends in November, whereas the Even semester ranges from December to April, each year.
The student needs to earn 120 credits to complete and obtain their B.A. degree.
The student must complete 26 core subjects and 2 elective subjects, one in each 5th and 6th semester, to complete the degree.
The student is evaluated based on internal and external admissions. The internal examinations weigh 25% and the external examinations weigh 75% of the total marks.

Ques. What are the documents required while taking admission at the institute?

Ans. Candidates applying for admission to the institute must submit the following documents: IPU CET application form, IPU CET score card, transcripts of class X and XII, demand draft for the programme fees, copy of a valid identification card, categories certificates, transfer certificate, character certificate, and copies of educational certificates.

Ans. 85% of the total seats are reserved for “Delhi Region Candidates”, and the rest 15% seats are reserved for students belonging to outside Delhi region. In each section 50% seats are allotted to students belonging to general category, 28% seats are allotted for students belonging to OBC category, 14% seats are reserved for students belonging to SC category and 9 % seats are reserved for students belonging to Scheduled tribes category.

Choose MSIT if you want to prioritize degree value over cost. Otherwise, go with SRM. MSIT CSE placements are excellent, but if you live in a politically neutral environment with large campuses, consider SRM, Chennai. Technical societies, such as IEEE, are very active, and if you are fortunate enough to be a part of them, it is better for you in terms of placement and 'knowledge building. One of my friends had recently joined Thapar University and here are some of the facts about it that make it stand out among others. One of the best streams to pursue at Thapar University is CSE. The placements at Thapar are really good and most of the CSE students get placed. Some teachers are not very good with their teaching methods. One of the best professors at Thapar is Mannek sir, he is a mechanics teacher. One of the best things you will encounter while studying at Thapar University is the senior mentors. They are like siblings and help you with everything. The infrastructure is not very well developed yet, there are few buildings with air conditioning but unfortunately not all buildings. There is various student societies present which you can also join. Here are some reasons why: More focus is given on theoretical preparation than the practicals. Students often complain about the incomplete training. If you wish to learn about your course, it will not provide you with the satisfaction. Because mostly students tend to mug up last year’s questions and answer books. Scoring is easy even if you study only 2-4 days before the exam. The same 10-15 questions are repeated every year. If you want to build yourself, you mostly have to do it all on your own, because the college won't make much effort. Placements here are average. One of my friends studied at YMCA while my sister studied at IPU. I can share their experiences and let's see who won: YMCA receives a lot of good companies each year. IPU receives IT firms most often with a package of INR 3.25 LPA. The only highlight of IPU is Microsoft. As a CS or IT, you will find it to your liking. In YMCA Amazon, Maruti, Adobe, Snapdeal, Yamaha, and many more reputed companies come to hire B.Tech graduates. Placement is what matters to most, however, it's not the only parameter of comparison but because YMCA tops in placements which is an essential factor nevertheless, it wins!
