Course Description

NIT Warangal M.Tech admission 2024 will be based on the GATE scores followed by CCMT counseling. For NIT Warangal MTech Admission 2024, GATE Registrations have started from August 30. The closing date of regular registration is October 12, 2023. Along with that, the deadline for extended online registration or application process (with late fee) is 20^th October, 2023.Furthermore, GATE 2024 tentative exam dates have been announced. GATE 2024 entrance exam is expected to be held in the month of February. The exam dates for GATE 2024 is on February 3,4,10 & 11.

NIT Warangal offers a 2 year MTech program divided into 4 semester in 26 specialisations. The institute grants admission to its MTech course on the basis of marks secured in the GATE exam and CCMT counselling method. NIT Warangal cutoff in overall for the year ranges between 350-628 for the general category.

For NIT Warangal MTech admission 2024, candidates have to score a minimum of 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks in aggregate in their BTech program and then appear for the GATE exam. Candidates pursued BTech correspondence should belong to IGNOU institute to be eligible for NIT Warangal MTech course. GATE qualified candidates should register themselves for CCMT counselling for the seat allocation process. Candidates are open to float, slide or freeze the seats allocated to them.

NIT Warangal M.Tech Course Highlights

NIT Warangal M.Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have cleared B.E/B.Tech or equivalent in relevant discipline with 7.0 CGPA or 65% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute.
Candidates must have appeared for the GATE exam for the relevant years.
Candidates who have studied Bachelor’s program in correspondence mode should belong to IGNOU institute.

NIT Warangal M.Tech Selection Criteria

Candidates will be selected on the basis of GATE score.
On the basis of GATE Score, a merit list will be prepared and the shortlisted candidates need to register for the CCMT Counselling.
In this stage, candidates will be allotted seats on the availability of seats in the institute and their rank.

NIT Warangal M.Tech Counselling Process

GATE CCMT Counselling process consists of five stages. These include:

Stage 1: Online CCMT Registration, Choice Filling, and Locking

Stage 2: Online CCMT Seat Allotment & Seat Acceptance Fee Deposit

Stage 3: Online CCMT Document Uploading and Submit Willingness

Candidates are required to exercise one of the following willingness when they report to the RC:

Floating: if they wish to be considered in the next round for all of their higher preferred choices.
Sliding: if they wish to be considered in the next round for their higher preferred choices only within the Institute allotted to them.
Freezing: if they are satisfied with the currently allotted seat and not interested in their higher preferred choices in the subsequent round.

Stage 4: Online CCMT Document Verification

Document verification will be done by the verifying officer of the respective allotted institute only in the online mode.
After successful verification of documents, an ODVC (Online Document Verification Certificate) will be generated.

Stage 5: Online Admission in the Finally Allotted Institute- After successful online document verification by the finally allotted institute, the candidates will have to pay the balance admission fee to the respective Institute in the online mode.

NIT Warangal provides very good hostel facilities to first-year students among most of the Engineering students in India. The approximate cost for a hostel ranges from 1.8-2k. Second-year students are required to stay in the Old Blocks which is not as good as the hostels of First-year students. For Third Year students, an average hostel costing 1k is provided with pretty decent facilities. At a glance, we can say that the hostel facilities of NIT Warangal are better than that of NIT Trichy.

My brother did his M.Tech from NITC. Here is his insight into the general placement scenario for MTech at NITs. Over the years it has been seen that the placements for M.Tech students are comparatively less as most of the companies demand B.Tech graduates as the freshers or even experienced candidates. However, in some cases, M.Tech students are considered, like in research and development-oriented jobs. However, most industries prefer B.Tech over M.Tech. After pursuing M.Tech your area gets narrower due to which the situation becomes very tricky for both the employers and the candidates applying for. As far as all the colleges are concerned the placement statistics are not so good for M.Tech students. In the recent placement drives, the average CTC offered at NIT Warangal, NIT Trichy and NIT Surathkal were respectively 21 LPA, 6 LPA, and 11 LPA.

Having known some people who graduated from NIT Trichy and NIT Warangal I can say that there is no demand for either of these two subjects in the industry. Both the colleges are of similar reputation in the industry, hence choose the one that suits your location. This will ease your transportation. The students of these institutes opt for CSE, learn programming languages from scratch, willing to be computer engineers in the future. They are offered salary packages ranging from 12-24 LPA, depending on their skills. Sometimes it rises up to 50 LPA. These companies not only check academic credentials but also their TopCoder and GitHub profiles. Some even opt to be managers, their jobs demand and value academic credentials. They receive salary packages ranging from 15-18 LPA. The placements at both colleges are good. Make a calculative decision considering the field you are interested in.

Honesty, discipline, and the values of the South Indian people and the states make them stand out. This might not be making sense to you, but will definitely try to elucidate the same here. Also, opinions vary among people. One of my friends studied at NIT Trichy and he has lived in Hyderabad as well. According to him, 4 qualities that make any institution the best are - Hard work, discipline, humbleness, and the eagerness to learn. The people in the southern state's priorities have these factors more than the people in the northern states. The second point to note here is that, unless and until you get to the nerves, the people in the southern states are very calm and polite to you. Most of the people in the northern states, on the other hand, are of a rowdy attitude. Verbal abuses are common here. The students in these institutions are dedicated to learning and so are the teachers towards teaching. Moreover, the rules and regulations are followed strictly in these institutions.

As some of my friends are from NIT Calicut, I might be able to share some information about the college I gathered from them. The major reason for the diminishing NIRF ranking is its lack of proper administrative procedures during MHRD document verification. The details about the alumni network are really poor. Another reason is the college is trying to maintain its age-old legacy by keeping the infrastructure as it is. They are rarely repaired, There is no construction of new buildings. Even the facilities are old and are not replaced by modern technologies. If you think that the drop in the rankings is because of the quality of education, faculty, or placements, let me assure you that it is not. Because NIT Calicut is still considered among the top 4 NITs.
