According to the Australian Government, it is mandatory for primary as well as the secondary applicant to submit English Language Proficiency Test scores to migrate to Australia. PTE is the quickest and cheapest way to prove English language proficiency in Australia – this is because PTE fee is 13,300 which is slightly less compared to IELTS fees (around 14,000).

PTE score for UK visa is 59 for Tier 2 Minister of Religion visa and for Student route visa, it is 43.
Alternatively, the candidates are allowed to take IELTS to prove English language proficiency – 4.5 IELTS band score is sufficient to prove functional English of the candidates.
The score for IELTS and PTE for Spouse Visa is one year – therefore, the applicants need to apply within the validity of their scorecards.
In general, the score validity of these language tests is 2 years and for immigration purposes in Australia, PTE score validity for Australia is 3 years. But for Spouse Visa, it is 1 year, so the candidates need to keep this factor in mind.
As per the Department of Home Affairs, international candidates are permitted to bring their immediate family members in Australia, but in this case, the family members include spouse and children below the age of 18. These family members are necessarily the dependents of the candidate.
To bring these family members, the candidates are required to include the name and all the details of their family members in their initial student visa application.
To apply for spouse visa, a candidate must have a nomination of department letter from the university.
After application, Australian Immigration Case Officer will contact the candidates to upload the English language proficiency documents within 28 days. The option of attaching the documents are available only after paying the fees.
