Due to the COVID-19, the Pearson VUE has reduced the availability of PTE test centers for Indian candidates and also restricted the number of applicants in each session in order to comply with official requirements and in the interests of the safety measures and health precautions for the applicants, following the guidelines defined by the authorities.

Number of Attempts for PTE Academic
Generally, there are no limits on how many times one can sit the PTE test.
But, there are some rules which need to be followed. For instance, applicants cannot book more than one date at a time. So in case you booked a date for May, to be on the safe side, you cannot book another for your plan B as a back-up date in June. You need to sit the first test and receive your test score to be able to book for another.
The other rule is that while you are awaiting your PTE score report which usually takes 2 hours to 7 days, you cannot book another date for sitting the PTE test. This is again in line with the first rule that candidates cannot book two dates at the same time.
PTE Eligibility Score
PTE Exam Eligibility doesn’t have any minimum score for the PTE exam. However, from the total range of 10-90, a score of 50-63 is considered competent. For better and standard university options, it is expected to score in the range of 65-75 or above. But PTE maximum scores are required for admission in top universities. Aspirants need to qualify these tests in order to pursue their career in study abroad for candidats belonging from India or any other country where English is not the native language.
PTE Exam Eligibility for Canada PR
PTE test is eligible for Canadian universities and colleges. PTE Academic test is the best choice to help you obtain your Letter of Acceptance from a Canadian University.
It is a new additional measure to support international students, and wherein there’s a two-stage temporary visa process in which students receive an Approval-in-Principle to start their Canadian education online and from home when completing the first stage of the process.
The IELTS exam is valid for Canadian immigration, but PTE for Canada is not valid. These test scores are accepted by not just Canadian universities, but they are also accepted by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). You must know the details about The Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) to know about the scores that you must ideally score so that you will be considered for immigration to Canada.
PTE scores are accepted by Canadian universities and for a student visa. But one cannot use it for a Canada PR visa. So PTE for Canada is not the right language test.
