M.Tech. in Control Systems: Who should opt?

Ideal candidates for the course would possess:

  • STEM Skills: This is the core foundation of any engineering stream. STEM sands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and is essentially the amalgamation of these 3 subjects. Students are taught a series of mathematical and logistical problems that form part of the curriculum.

  • Team-working Abilities: to work as a team on a particular project. Every assignment consists of a team that works on various parts of the project. Here team work becomes important for task-execution.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Engineering being a complex field, every problem needs to be looked at from a different angle. Uncertainties and hidden errors are bound to occur. Therefore, students need to approach the problem with an active and alert analytical mind. The devised must meet all guidelines with minimal risk in the construction process. Experimentation might be needed before the actual projects shapes up so that the budget isn’t wasted on failed attempts.
  • Attention to Detail: a keen eye needed to bring every task to perfection with maximum accuracy. Every project involves detailing during the planning and construction process. Students need to make sure that nothing important gets missed that could derail the enterprise.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: for communication with peers and professors. Engineering involves usage of technical language on a daily basis. Students might deal with people who might not understand the complex terms of technical language. They hence need to make it understandable and meaningful to such clients.
  • Awareness: of the latest advancements in the technical field of Control Systems.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: for execution of responsibilities and tasks that might be needed in team-management.
