I have a passion for Mechanical engineering so I chose this course. The faculties here are so nice to students usually faculties will come and teach and they clear some doubts and leave but in our college, they interact with us a lot. In our college, the faculties are well qualified and well trained for teaching. Since it is a great institute the faculties are also more knowledgeable people. For one semester they conduct 2 mid sem and final-sem question papers are taken like to test our knowledge, learning and remembrance, and some problem-solving. Preety is tough but they teach accordingly.

Ques
Which is better for CSE, SSN Chennai, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, or VIT Chennai?

● Top Answer By Gautam Kumar on 27 Jan 21

Ans
A friend of mine recommended me CIT as it is the oldest and a government-aided research institute. CIT was started much earlier than SSN. Needless to say, the institute has much more facilities to offer you as it is the most trusted.  Here are some basic information about the three institutes: Category SSN Chennai CIT VIT Placement Companies Amazon, Facebook, L&T, Google, Hyundai Amazon, Infosys, L&T, Toshiba, Renault Nissan Microsoft, Udaan, PayPal, Amazon Average CTC 6 LPA  4.99 LPA 6 LPA Highest CTC 61 LPA 33.05 LPA 44 LPA Fees INR 1 Lakh INR 1,03,000 INR 57,000 (First Year) If you ask about computer science, SSN and CIT are on the same page. Both the institutes are equally great. If compared on the basis of the CS department, VIT is lagging behind as compared to SSN and CIT.  CIT and SSN are more affordable as compared to VIT as it is a deemed University.  SSN has the best infrastructure among the three universities.  In order to encourage research, SSN offers an amount of twenty-five thousand rupees as part of internally funded projects. You can collaborate with top institutes like Anna University or IIT for projects. Though the faculty and quality of teaching at VIT lags behind, it is not the case in CIT and SSN. Both the institutes have a very strong faculty being top institutes. If you are planning to study abroad in the near future, SSN should be your ultimate destination. It is known for providing students with facilities to study all around the nation and the world.  Though the oldest and the most affordable institute among the three is CIT, if your budget allows, you must go for SSN. It is also located in a metropolitan city. You can keep VIT as a backup option due to issues like affordability, comparatively poor faculty, and lack of enough research facilities.

Ques
Which one should I choose, automobile engineering in PSG College of Technology or mechanical engineering in Coimbatore Institute of Technology?

● Top Answer By Vikas Ray on 27 Jan 21

Ans
One of my relatives pursued his graduation from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology. As per his experience, Mechanical Engineering will be a good option at CIT. Here are the following reasons why you should choose the Coimbatore Institute of Technology over PSG College of Technology. Faculty:  The faculty of Coimbatore Institute of Technology is friendly, professional, and skilled. Many of its professors work in organizations like DRDO. Infrastructure:  PSG College of Technology provides better infrastructure than Coimbatore, but there are many facilities available in CIT as well.  Coimbatore Institute of Technology provides good lab equipment and arrange workshops for engineering students. Workshops are very important to gain ample opportunity, which will boost your career. Campus Life: The campus life of CIT is better. It provides a friendly environment for students.  However, the hostel and its food quality are low, but you will get used to it.  Placement:  The placement cell of Coimbatore Institute of Technology is good. Companies such as L&T, Nissan, Renault, Hyundai, Godrej, Robert Bosch, and many more come for campus placement.  The table below shows the placement statistics of both institutions: Category PSG College of Technology Coimbatore Institute of Technology Average CTC 4.3 LPA 4.99 LPA Highest CTC 9 LPA 33.05 LPA Thus, choosing Mechanical Engineering over Automobile Engineering is always a better idea as it opens a wide range of opportunities before you. And Coimbatore Institute of Technology is the right choice for Mechanical Engineering.

Ques
What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Coimbatore Institute of Technology?

● Top Answer By Avik Sarkar on 27 Jan 21

Ans
One of my friends graduated from this college in 2020 and following are his recommendations to the juniors as per his recent experience. Networking  You need to build a good network of friends. It will help you in your career development.  Try to remain in contact with students who are good in academics. You do not have to be perfect but maintain a healthy circle around you.  You shouldn’t deprive yourself of having fun, but don’t lose your main focus.  Hostel Life The hostel life of CIT will provide you with a memorable stay.  CIT Alumni can survive in any worst situation as they survived their stay in the hostel. You must accept your living environment with a positive and happy attitude. There are four boys hostels in CIT- Palani Hostel, Malai hostel, Thirumalai Hostel and Vellingiri hostel. You will experience everything in these hostels during your course. Food at Mess Breakfast and Lunch will be fine but dinner is the worst. You might not like it but you will get used to it.  There are many restaurants around the college campus as a backup. One among them is Lakshmi Mess is quite popular among students. Water Facility  Drinking water facilities in the hostel might get out of order sometimes. If you face such issues simply ask your hostel warden to get it fixed.  You can also buy water cans temporarily or use boiled water. Academics First Year Your first and second semester will not be tougher. Maintain a good CGPA from the first semester itself. 8 CGPA is good in my opinion. Due to the strict curriculum, you will not get enough chances to contact your seniors.  You will be more involved in exploring and understanding your department.  Second Year You will feel the course load during semester 3. But don't lose hope.  Be prepared to face laboratory projects and assignments. Don't feel too much pressure, just set your time accordingly and learn from it. Till semester 4 you will know everything about your department and college. Try to participate in different activities as much as you can. Third-year Semester 5 syllabus is more advanced than your previous semesters. Make use of it, as it is the first step towards your career.  Apart from your academics, participate in workshops and conferences and make yourself ready for the industry. Work on your aptitude and interview skills.  Final Year The sixth and final semester is very important, where the placement scenario comes from. Don’t worry if your friends get placed, just work on your aptitude and interview skills, and apply to several companies.  Do not worry much about the first year, just follow the above rules and enjoy your college life.
