For a PGDM FS, KJ Somaiya is the best option among these. The institute has a locational advantage since it is situated at the financial hub of the country, i.e. Mumbai.  KJ Somaiya placements are great. According to the 2022 interim placement report, the average CTC offered to the students was INR 10.25 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 26.50 LPA.

Between GIM and SIIB, the letter offers better industrial relations and better job roles in campus placements.

If you're considering pursuing an MBA in Marketing, GIM could be the best option for you. This is because GIM is known for having the best marketing faculty among the options available. The faculty members are highly experienced and knowledgeable, and they provide students with a comprehensive understanding of marketing concepts and practices.

On the other hand, if you're looking for the top-ranked management school among the options provided, GLIM Chennai should be your choice. GLIM Chennai consistently ranks at the top among B-schools in the country, and it has an excellent reputation for providing a world-class education.

Moreover, GLIM Chennai has strong industry linkages and provides students with plenty of opportunities to interact with top recruiters. This is a significant advantage, as it gives students the chance to network with industry leaders and gain valuable insights into the field.

If you're looking to pursue a career in PGDM Marketing, GIM could be the best choice among GLIM, FORE, and TAPMI as it provides excellent training and education in this field. However, if you're looking for a top-ranked institution and want to maximize your chances of getting hired by top recruiters, GLIM Chennai is the way to go.

Ultimately, the decision of which institution to choose depends on your personal goals, preferences, and priorities. Both institutions offer world-class education and exceptional faculty, so it's essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully before making a final decision.

Achiever’s Round is organized for applicants who have a good profile overall. This does not include CAT/XAT score. The calls for this round are purely based on the profile of the candidates.

There are several perks of getting through an Achiever’s round call. This is also called a Score based call. Various perks are –

  • Early interviews are conducted in January instead of late February/March.
  • Students get a chance to grab a 4 lakh scholarship.
  • A lower cut off is needed in CAT/ XAT/ CMAT if you have to convert.
  • Few candidates are offered admission on the spot.

Only Goa Institute of Management conducts interviews for Achiever’s Round. There are several types of Interviews conducted - a group interview, a personal interview, and an on the spot admission round interview.

Both TAPMI and GIM are well-respected institutions in India that offer management education. Both institutions have their own unique strengths and areas of focus.GIM is known for its focus on sustainability and corporate social responsibility, as well as its international focus with a strong emphasis on international business.

Both institutes give a sharp edge to each other in terms of rankings, placements, and infrastructure. My cousin was in a similar situation and eventually went for GIM owing to its smaller batch size. Although both institutes offer similar opportunities and exposure, I can guarantee that GIM will give you a much better campus life.

TAPMI too is a leading B School and from what I heard from a friend, most of its pass outs are working in high positions in reputed firms. Overall,

  • Placement-wise, GIM>TAPMI
  • Campus life-wise, TAPMI>GIM

Ultimately, the choice between TAPMI and GIM will depend on the individual's specific interests and career goals. Both institutions offer high-quality education,

Goa Institute of Management is one of the top 40–45 B-schools in India. It has a highly modern and hi-tech campus and a proper B-school environment to study.

If you look into ROI, then it is not considered a good B-school. If you are desperately in need of pursuing an MBA, then you can opt for going to the Goa Institute of Management. If you have patience and can wait for next year, then you can opt for some other Management Institute.

If you are shortlisted for the Achiever's round at a management institute like Goa Institute of Management, you will receive an email with further instructions. You will have to book your interview slot from the options provided. You will have the choice of attending a lecture with current students or an option without class.

You will be required to reach the campus by 9 am on the day of the interview. You will be directed to a classroom where the document verification process will take place. A random allotment will be made among eight faculties/admin staff responsible for document verification. While filling out the form, you will be asked to write your three best achievements and provide proof for the same. Make sure to write only verifiable achievements.

You will be split into groups of 10-12 candidates for the Group Discussion. There will be two panelists (both faculties at the institute). This will be a mix of Group Interviews and Group Discussions. You will be given a minute to introduce yourself, and the panelists will then ask you to choose a topic for discussion. You will discuss current issues, and a topic will be given based on the work experience of all candidates. For example, "How do you handle Passive vs Aggressive bosses".

After the group discussion, you will have lunch, and then the PI round 1 will start. Here, two panelists (one male, one female) will interview you. The interview questions will be general and based on your work experience. You may be asked about your name, something about yourself, the best and worst brand you worked for, the marketing strategy for the institute, and any questions you may have for the panelists.

After the first round, you will be asked to wait back, and some names will be announced for the Director's round. If your name is called, you will have to wait in the reception area for your turn. The Director's round will be more intense, and you may be asked questions about your work experience and why you want to pursue an MBA. Make sure to prepare well for this round.

The Director's round questions will include topics like your work experience, marketing, sales, and real estate. There may be multiple panelists, and some may not ask any questions. You may be asked to explain your document verification process if it's not in place.

If you successfully complete the interview process, you may be given a spot offer. It's important to stay positive and confident throughout the process, even if you feel nervous. Make sure to prepare well and answer all questions honestly and to the best of your ability.

One of my friends studied in LBSIM. According to him, when it comes to the courses in LBSIM, it comprises 2 courses, namely, PGDM General and PGDM Finance.

  • Considering PGDM General, the dual specialization subjects include Operations, Finance, HR, Systems and Marketing which could be selected after 1 year.
  • Considering PGDM Finance, the subjects for dual specialization include Investment Management, Strategic Accounting and Control, Treasury Management, and Risk Management. These can be selected after 1 year of completion.
  • This depicts that the Institute offers a lot of subjects to choose from for the specialization.
  • The Institute is quite good in terms of alumni and placements also.
