For a PGDM FS, KJ Somaiya is the best option among these. The institute has a locational advantage since it is situated at the financial hub of the country, i.e. Mumbai.  KJ Somaiya placements are great. According to the 2022 interim placement report, the average CTC offered to the students was INR 10.25 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 26.50 LPA.

Between GIM and SIIB, the letter offers better industrial relations and better job roles in campus placements.

SIIB is the third rank college in SNAP and has a high cutoff around 98 percentile. Since SIMS admits mostly students from defense backgrounds so the quality of peer of SIIB, is comparatively better.

There’s also another parameter that you should consider while choosing the right institute for your MBA, i.e. specialization.

  • For Marketing and Finance, go for SIIB Pune. It is definitely a better choice, with more companies on campus as compared to SIMS.
  • If you are interested in Operation/SCM or HR go for SIMS. It has a large batch size for HR and Operations that ensures better placement opportunities and peer learning.

Another factor that is crucial for choosing a management institute is ROI. SIIB offers a poor Return On Investment if you don't get the top jobs. However, recently SIIB is seeing very good placements. SIIB is better in long term.

SIIB Pune has a good average of 100% placements. The small batch size is both an advantage and a disadvantage for it. Few things can definitely improve at the institute but overall SIIB, Pune is a good institute with decent placements.

Here is a highlight of the 2020 placements.

The chances of getting an interview call from SIIB, or SIBM Bangalore with a SNAP score of 87.6 are very less. Below are the cutoff details, for these institutes.

SIIB Pune cutoff - 93

SIBM Bangalore cutoff - 90

Naturally, the required cutoff changes each year depending on various factors, such as competition, the difficulty level of the examination, etc.

Symbiosis Institute of International Business, Pune (SIIB) offers students two-year full-time residential programs in MBA.

  • The hostel, situated in the Hinjewadi Infotech Park, is surrounded by various large multinational companies of India, some of them being Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, etc. It is mainly influenced so as to make students feel the atmosphere of the corporate world from within the campus itself.
  • You will find various in-campus sports facilities to de-stress after a tiring day. The institute also offers a gym and a well-equipped health care center to support wellbeing.
  • The hostels of SIIB, Pune come with their own coffee shops, canteens, stationery, and departmental stores to help students get the items they need.
  • All the hostels (considering both boys’ and girls’) come with elevators, backup powers, Wi-Fi, and LAN internet connectivity as well.

SIIB Pune is surrounded by hills on either side which infiltrates a sense of peace and tranquility which produces a highly conducive atmosphere for learning. My friends at the institute are quite happy with the campus life.

Although all the B Schools you mentioned are very good, the one I would personally recommend is FORE. Some points that favor my recommendation are

  • Location-based crowd: All the other colleges you mentioned have students mainly from Mumbai. But FORE located in New Delhi, the heart of the country has students from all over India.
  • Placement: Here’s a tabular comparison of the average and highest CTC of the colleges.

College

Average Package

Highest package

GIM

INR 12.1 LPA

INR 30.2 LPA

FORE

INR 14.04 LPA

INR 41 LPA

KJ Somaiya

INR 10.98 LPA

INR 26.50 LPA

SIBM Bangalore

INR 10.60 LPA

INR 32 LPA

  • Fees:

GIM: ?18,31,200

FORE: Rs.16,98,000

KJ Somaiya: ?9.59 Lakhs (one year)

SIBM: INR 3.53 L - 16.62 L(for 2-3 years)

FORE offers industry oriented certifications and International Immersion Program. So looking at the overall picture we can say all 4 colleges give each other tough competition but FORE takes the lead.

One of my friends at SIBM Bengaluru, says it is an excellent institute, which has been growing at an exponential pace over the last 10 years. The points below will give you a clear idea as to why you should go for SIBM Bangalore over SIIB Pune.

  • The institute completed its 10th year in 2018, after which it has seen several FMCG companies visit the campus.
  • The recruiters include top MNCs like Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, Deloitte, Morgan Stanley, ITC, Dell, Credit Suisse, Maruti Suzuki, etc.
  • Most of these companies recruit students for both SIP and full-time placements.
  • The average package of SIBM was Rs. 9.58 LPA, which is at present above Rs. 10 LPA.
  • For SIBM Bengaluru, the cut-off was close to 89-90 percentiles in the last few years, which has increased to some value over the last 3-4 years.
  • After clearing the cut-off, you will get a call from the institute for GEPIWAT.
  • SIBM is located at the IT hub in Bengaluru. This is an added advantage. It will help in industrial visits and internships.

By understanding the perspective of your question, there shall not be a huge change if you only get an MBA done. The thing that determines it is the choices you are going to make like the firm you choose to work in, your expected salary or location or role, the work environment, and various other choices.

In 10 years, if you continue working hard, then you will probably have made 2 or 5 years of promotion. You can also simultaneously expect a major salary hike.

However, considering several drawbacks such as home loans, personal expenses, family expenditure, annual vacations, and fee structure of institutions, you are expected to live a very grounded life.

  1. You should be sure enough about what you are passionate about during pursuing MBA.
  2. Join a job sector that can lead you to a good state.
  3. If necessary, you should also build an alternate income for other essential factors.
  4. You should also begin pro-bono consulting during the weekends.
  5. You can also consult a startup or can choose to become a mentor or adviser or helper too.

Thus, your life 10 years from now will not however result only if you particularly get an MBA from a B-school, but will take into account the choices you have made, and the hard work you were to undertake.

Among IMI (Delhi), SIIB (Pune), or MICA (Ahmedabad) for an MBA in Marketing, MICA should be your top choice. It's known for providing unparalleled education in Branding, Communication, and Marketing. Although the fee for all the colleges mentioned is on the higher side, the question of ROI does not arise when it comes to MICA's reputation and quality of education.

IMI New Delhi is a decent college, but it's not particularly known for anything specific. On the other hand, SIIB is part of a cluster of colleges and is sought after mainly for the Symbiosis brand. However, MICA has a unique identity and reputation for producing some of the finest marketing and communication specialists in the industry.

Choosing MICA as your B-school will provide you with exposure to a rich and diverse culture, along with an unparalleled learning experience in Marketing and Communication. The college has an exceptional faculty, top-notch infrastructure, and a wide range of industry tie-ups that provide students with ample opportunities to gain practical experience.

MICA's alumni network is also a significant advantage, with graduates holding leadership positions in top organizations globally. Overall, if you're looking to specialize in Marketing and Communication, MICA should be your top choice, given its unparalleled reputation and focus on the field.

You should choose PGPM Great Lakes. The course curriculum is good and it has gained momentum over the last few years. The institute offers good placements. Great Lakes Chennai average package during 2022 placements was INR 12.5 LPA. The average CTC increased 13% this year.

If you are interested in International Business, SIIB is a good option as well.
