The University offers a number of specializations under the B.E program at the undergraduate level. Those who wish to pursue the courses at this university may apply to do so through the standard Karnataka Examination Authority portal (CET application with a preference for Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering).

The basic qualification for a candidate to be eligible is a pass at the 10+2 level from a recognized board in the country, i.e. State Board / ISC / CBSE or the equivalent, with a background in the Science stream. Reservation is in accordance with government regulations.

Admission to the undergraduate B.E. program is decided 95% for aided courses and 50% for unaided courses by the Karnataka Examination Authority. The remaining seats can be filled by the college authorities at their discretion. Therefore, the determining factor for admissions to this college is the performance in the CET.

Those selected on the basis of their performance must then appear in person for the admission counseling process, while also ensuring that all required documents are available for verification. Admission is confirmed only after completing all required processes, including document verification and payment of required fee amount.

Admissions to the postgraduate programs at this college are decided completely by the Karnataka Examination Authority, for both aided and unaided courses of M.Tech. This is done on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the common entrance examination known as PGET. For MCA and MBA course, 50% of the total intake is filled by PGCET and 50% by the Management.
