₹ 56,760The best placement story would be that of my friend's brother and here's why - he is everything you can imagine. He has been a very multidimensional person with active participation in workshops and extracurriculars, he was the class representative and is a topper as well with a 9.2 CGPA.
The story goes somewhat like this -
He recollected all the basics of engineering and was ready with his resume points and by 6 pm he made it to the job with his perseverance. I hope this inspires you to make the best of your time.
My friend studied at MIT in 2013 and he says there are many reputable names from different departments like Prof. K Jeyaraman in the Aeronautical Engineering department, or Dr. PK Kanagasabapathy from the Instrumentation Engineering department, or Dr. A Rajadurai who was the former dean of MIT- he was an expert in Metallurgy and is one of the best professors owned by MIT.
Nevertheless, because my friend has his personal favorites, I'd write about them here -
There have been innumerable instances where my friend was guided and helped by prof KVN.
He had been a professor, friend, and guide to my friend.
MIT has been one of the best experiences for my cousin’s sister. It is a place to learn, grow and develop fond memories. Following are some unique things about MIT -
The campus is serene and compact, it's not the largest, nor are there thousands of students. Rather you'll find yourself in a close-knit community.
My cousin went to MIT and faced it during his first semester. His seniors from the third-year department caught him red-handed one night while he got late in getting back to his hostel during the weekend. He arrived at 9 and was taken by them to the railway track from Chrompet to Pallavaram.
Ragging is an MIT tradition during the first year of college and then when the seniors are graduating, students are asked to do what they like to dance, sing, run, wrestle, walk, travel, bring gifts, etc. This is not scary at all, rather fun to do. My cousin faced similar incidents twice or thrice, not any harsh form of ragging but experiential stuff, which made him cherish memories of that time.
Madras Institute of Technology is under Anna University. These two aren’t separate. If you want good job profiles with cushy salary packages, after completing your degree, MIT isn’t a good option. Not many core companies visit the campus drive for recruitment. Although placements in the non-core sector are good. MIT offers good academics and you can benefit from the institute if you are aiming to pursue higher studies. The course fee is nominal. The course costs around INR 1.58 lakhs.
SRM is a good option if infrastructure is your priority. Although the university fees are a little higher.
If you are an academically interested person, both NIT Kurukshetra and PEC Chandigarh will cherish you, and you will get very good opportunities in both colleges. Here are some key points to consider when deciding between the two:
Commonalities between the two colleges:
Where PEC Chandigarh is better:
Where NIT Kurukshetra is better:
Ultimately, the decision between NIT Kurukshetra and PEC Chandigarh depends on your personal preferences and priorities. Consider factors such as location, campus facilities, faculty, and alumni network when making your choice.
Yes, not only this year but for the last 5-6 years, MIT Aeronautical Engineering has been facing a lot of trouble in general.
Categories | Aeronautical Engineering at Madras Institute of Technology |
Course Fee | 2 lakh |
Highest CTC | 23 LPA |
Average CTC | 10 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Defense Research and Development Organisation, ISRO, NASA etc. |
Anna University's core placements are declining at a faster rate, and this is not limited to the Aeronautical department. If your goal is to get a job, then it is suggested that you do not go for Aeronautical Engineering at MIT.
Yes, MIT is a part of Anna University, despite the fact that, unlike the other three, it is not physically located on the university campus (CEG, ACT, and SAP).
Regarding the second question, there is no discrimination at Anna University as a whole because each student from each of the four campuses is treated equally, just as the NIRF does with Anna University. However, college is important when applying for jobs or for higher education, and a CEG student would unquestionably be a more desirable candidate because CEG is more prestigious and was the first to be established.
However, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, a distinguished alumnus of MIT, is the reason for its greater fame.
I have one of my cousins studying at Madras Institute of Technology. So here, is what it feels like to be at MIT.
You are going to learn a lot from MIT and gain experience about how to be social and develop relations. The classes don’t run from morning to evening. You will have a lot of free time to explore the campus. You can either go and watch movies, hang out with friends, join cultural activities, etc. For class attendance, if you have above 65% attendance then it will also work.
Therefore, MIT will make you only pass the college. You are not allowed to ask questions or take any new project in hand. It may be good for you if you are adamant to work hard.
129 isn’t enough to get admission to Madras Institute of Technology. The required cutoff for any branch at MIT is around 195. For general category students, the cutoff is even higher.
MIT admission is purely based on merit and students are shortlisted through Anna University counseling. With a score of 129, there is little to no possibility of getting any branch at MIT.
