Government College of Engineering BTech admission 2024 is done through the TNEA exam. The TNEA tentative exam 2024 dates have been announced. The start date of the online TNEA registration is May 4, 2024. The last date of registration for the same is June 4, 2024. Candidates can apply for TNEA through its official website.

Started in 1966, Government College of Engineering, Salem is a pioneer institute situated in the state of Tamil Nadu. GCE Salem offers undergraduate and postgraduate level programs which includeBE and ME programs. The courses are offered GCE Salem in more than 5 specializations each at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Seats are allocated on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination for undergraduate course.
In case of PG courses, candidates are shortlisted on the basis ofperformance in the relevant entrance examination (TANCET).
Reservation is done in accordance with regulations of the Government of India.

GCE Salem UG Admission 2023

Government College of Engineering, Salem offers admission to BEprogramon the basis of performance in the qualifying examination.Candidates who havepassed 10+2 level from the Science stream are subjected to the counselling process, conducted by Anna University.

GCE Salem PG Admission 2023

Government College of Engineering, Salem offers admission to ME programs on the basis of performance in the state level entrance conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, TANCET. Candidates should possess graduate degree in the relevant stream to be eligible to apply. Selected candidates must provide all original documents for verification for final admission to be processed.

TANCET consists of a 2-hour paper with 115 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the field as studied at the graduate level.

The paper is divided into three sections, of 20 questions, 35 questions and 60 questions each.
1 mark is awarded for every correct answer, and 1/3^rd mark deducted for every incorrect answer.

Candidates seeking admission to the UG, PG courses offered by the university may do so by following the steps given below:

For UG course:

Candidate should log on to the official website of the Anna University counselling process, and click on the Admissions tab.
Next, the candidate will be redirected to an application form which must be duly filled-in with all required details.
Candidates must submit the application fee via online banking / debit or credit card payment, following which they will be given a registration number.
All necessary documents as well as a recent photograph must then be uploaded along with the submitted form.
The preference for Government College of Engineering, Salem must be clearly specified while filling the application form

For PG Course/ TANCET:

Candidates must first register on the official TANCET website, following which a login ID will be generated.
The application form must then be duly filled-in with all personal and academic details
All necessary documents as well as a recent photograph must then be uploaded along with the submitted form.
Candidates must pay the application fee via online banking / debit or credit card payment, following which they will be given a registration number.
Candidates must retain a print out of the completed application form with them at the time of examination.

My experience on GCE,salem by 2012 batch student

Remarks:

The admission process is simple I applied for Counselling conducted by Anna University Chennai application fee for counselling is Rs.1000 (SC- category) application date is in May month and counselling starts in June to July month, In the SC category cutoff marks to get government college is 88% to 90% for metallurgical department & also an application for counselling fees is very low compare to other categories after selecting a college in counselling then as per allotted date u need to admission in college by visiting.

Wonderful review about my College

Remarks:

To study this course candidate must take either two groups in their HSC as PCM or PCB. Then they applied for Anna University counseling and based on their cut-off Mark's score they selected their interested course. The application fee for counseling is 5000 and the date of application starts after the completion of their higher secondary exams. Reservation benefits are available in their scholarships based on their quota.

Remarks:

Students will join the college through the tnea(Tamilnadu Engineering admission). Eligibility of tnea(Tamilnadu engineering admission)is 12th std. No direct admission. 7.5 Reservation is available in the college.
