Government College of Engineering, Salem offers admission to ME programs on the basis of performance in the state level entrance conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu, TANCET. Candidates should possess graduate degree in the relevant stream to be eligible to apply. Selected candidates must provide all original documents for verification for final admission to be processed.
TANCET consists of a 2-hour paper with 115 questions covering all relevant subject matter to the field as studied at the graduate level.
- The paper is divided into three sections, of 20 questions, 35 questions and 60 questions each.
- 1 mark is awarded for every correct answer, and 1/3rd mark deducted for every incorrect answer.
