Important Updates for DJSCE

DJSCE Mumbai BE admission 2024 is done through the MHT CET exam. The tentative MHT CET dates 2024 have been announced. The online application form will be released in March 2024. The MHT CET 2024 exam is to be held from April 16 to May 2, 2024.
DJSCE Mumbai ME Admissions are based on the GATE 2024 score. The registration process for GATE is over and the admit card will be released on January 03 onwards. GATE 2024 will occur on 03, 04, and 10, 11 February 2024.

Dwarkadas j Sanghavi College of Engineering Mumbai offers B.E program at the Undergraduate Level. At the post-graduation programs the institution offers M.E program and a Ph.D program is also offered at doctoral level. Remarks:

I took the MHT-CET examination to take admission into the college. The cutoff for our branch was 97%ile. I got admission into TFWS (Tution fee waiver scheme) category. So the tuition fee for me is paid by the government. The admission process was smooth and easy for me.

I can give you information about KJ Somaiya and DJ Sanghvi since I have friends from these institutes. If you are inclined towards an autonomous university, then KJ Somaiya would be a better choice. Apart from that, you can choose either institute based on how close it is to your location. Both the institutes share almost the same placement records. Here is a brief highlight of the same. A few years back, one of my friends took admission at KJ Somaiya via the ILS quota in the department of Mechanical Engineering. There were around 12 seats available. The fee was the same for everyone, irrespective of the quota. He filled up a form on the college’s website and a merit list came out based on their CET marks. My friend’s merit number was in the 70s. If you want admission, you will have to be physically present on the day of counseling along with the fee. They were called for admission based on their merit number. The number of seats available was displayed on an LCD for all the branches. As people took admission, it got updated. When your number is called, you will have to go to the table and select your branch. This was the process followed a few years back. However, I do not think that there has been any change in the process.

I have friends from both KJ Somiya and DJ Sanghavi. Based on the conversations I had with them, here is a brief comparison of the institutes. Teaching: Both institutes have good faculty bases and good academic infrastructure with well-established laboratories. Student crowd: The crowd at both institutes is similar. Both have a Gujrathi minority. Campus: KJ Somiya has a bigger campus. It has a full-size football ground, basketball ground, volleyball ground, tennis court, etc. DJ Sanghavi has a small campus but it offers better infrastructure. Placements: Placement wise KJ Somiya is better than DJ Sanghavi. The former offers better packages. Most of the companies that recruit from KJ Somiya are from the IT industry. Also, a few telecom companies visit the campus placements. Here are the placement highlights of both the institutes in brief. The placement in D.J. Sanghvi is decent with salary packages ranging from 3-12 Lakhs per annum. The points below give a brief overview of the run-through of the entire placement scenario in D.J. Sanghvi. The placement session usually starts from the beginning of the 4th year. The first company visiting the campus is mostly Morgan Stanley, providing the highest salary package (14-16 LPA). The entire placement sessions go on for a year, with an overall of about 35-40 companies, and a salary range of about 3-12 LPA offered to students. J.P Morgan performs a 24-hour hackathons “Code for Good” and recruits students from it. Some other names of MNCs visiting the campus just after Morgan Stanley include Directi, ZS associates, Indus Valley, etc. Several companies like EnY, LTI, Deloitte, Dollar Capital, etc provides appreciable salary packages. Almost every student from Computer science and IT gets at least one job offer in placement. Mass recruiters like TCS and Infosys visit the campus, recruiting a bunch of students. You will get several opportunities in placement, with different roles in companies. Seniors provide a lot of help for preparation and useful placement tips. For Computer Science, NMIMS Mumbai is a better option in terms of placements, location, and exposure. The institute follows an industry-relevant and updated curriculum. The CSE labs are well-equipped with the latest technologies. There are many workshops, student bodies, and professional chapters that you can take part in. NMIMS placements are good for CSE. Around 100% of students from the branch get placed. The average CTC for the branch is around INR 6-7 LPA.
