One has to qualify for JEE mains to apply for MPDTE counseling through which one can get admitted to the college. You can find the application form for JEE mains at jeemain.nic.in. The admission process is a well-systematic process and I don't see any changes required in this.

I cleared JEE mains and qualified for the criteria of my course. I got admitted in the first upgraded round. The cutoff was 94 percentile in which I scored 96.42 percentile. The eligibility was just to have higher secondary qualification through science (non-medical field). We can find the application form at jeemain.nic.in. I didn't find any improvement in the process.

The admission was done on the basis of the JEE MAINS rank . But if someone didn't gave JEE examination than he/she could take admission on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in 12. The form which we need to fill was of mpdte. And the application fee was around 1200Rs and the documents which were to be submitted along with the application was jee mains score card, 12th marksheet ,10th marksheet, domicel , transfer certificate. I personally didn't availed any reservation benifits as I was from general category. But there were reservation benefits for the students belonging to obc , sc and st categories. The website for initiating the admission process was little bit slow but, so if the website could be made little bit more user friendly and fast then it would be very good.

So, to take admission in SGSITS college Indore, firstly you have to give jee mains exam and on the basis of this you can do your choice filling of different colleges and branches at mpdte online website where you have to do registration and you have mp domicile certificate then you are lucky bcoz it holds 90 to 95 percent of the seats in the college and then there will two rounds after choice filling then you can get college according to the best of your rank in jee mains. But you can also get admission to this college on the basis of your 12th marks but its possibilities are less.

Ques
Which is better: IET DAVV CSE or SGSITS IT if placements are concerned?

● Top Answer By Sudhanshu Khare on 12 Apr 21

Ans
IET DAVV has better placements than SGSITS. In the following given table, you get a basic knowledge of both the college placement scenario.  Category  IET DAVV (CSE) SGSITS (IT) Fees INR 2.83 Lakh INR 5.23 Lakh Average Package  INR 4.5 LPA INR 7 LPA Highest Package  INR 20 LPA INR 32 LPA Placement Percentage 70% 60% One of my friends studies in IET DAVV and as per him most of the companies visiting both the institutes consequently are Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Accenture. There are few companies that visit both campuses.  But the IET DAVV placement cell is better than SGSITS. As it has a better placement head. They will help students over getting a job.  Therefore, if you are skeptical about choosing between IET DAVV CSE and SGSITS IT, then choose the former, as it has a better placement record than the latter.

Ques
Which college should I choose among SGSITS (Indore), NIT Raipur and NIT Rourkela for a B.tech?

● Top Answer By Aditya Mishra on 26 Aug 22

Ans
You should choose NIT Rourkela for a B.Tech. It is a reputed NIT with a great placement record. NIT Rourkela placements 2022 had witnessed the average CTC of INR 20.88 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 46.08 LPA. Reputed companies such as VISA, Google, Apple, etc. took part in the placement drive.  If you are getting CSE/EE/ECE, you should definitely choose NIT Rourkela.

Ques
Which college to prefer IIIT Vadodara or SGSITS Indore for CSE?

● Top Answer By Tamalika Ghosh on 05 Jul 21

Ans
Some of my friends studied CSE from SGSITS, so I might be able to share some details about SGSITS. But I can provide the basic information of IIIT Vadodara, as I am not very familiar with the college. The CSE department at SGSITS is about 30 years old. The student intake of the CSE department is 90. Most of the students of the general category are MPPET toppers. The HOD, Professor Mehta is considered to be the best Operating Systems teacher in India. At IIIT Vadodara, you will get to learn coding from scratch. It will be helpful for those who do not come from a CSE background. At IIIT Vadodara you will get the IIIT tag, which could prove to be valuable during interviews, but not always. Categories CSE at IIIT Vadodara CSE at SGSITS Course Fee 7.83 - 7.85 lakh 4.11 lakh Highest CTC 22 LPA 12 LPA Average CTC 13 LPA 6.4 LPA If you work hard, you can easily secure a job during the placement program. Top companies like Microsoft, Deloitte, Mu Sigma, SAP, Mindtree, Wipro, ZS Associates, L&T, Morgan Stanley, etc. take part in the placement program of both colleges. They also offer deserving candidates internship opportunities, during their 3rd year. Ultimately it is your choice and priority that will help you decide which college to get admitted in.

Ques
I scored 120 in the JEE Mains this year and 91.2% in the CBSE. How can I get the IT or the EC branch in the IET DAVV SGSITS?

● Top Answer By Rachita Mitra on 11 May 21

Ans
With a score of 120 in JEE Mains and 91.2% in CBSE, you are fit for the IT or EC branch in IET DAVV in the second round of counseling by DTE.  In the past, students have got the IT/EC branch at such scores or even less. I have a friend who is an alumnus of IET DAVVa and his score was 125 in JEE and 87% in MP board.  There’s a good chance that you will be selected. As for SGSITS, with this rank, you can easily get any branch you like. Here is the required cutoff for IET DAVV and SGSITS in recent years. Branch  IET DAVV SGSITS IT  30549 23715 EC 55534 28577 However, if you don’t get the desired branch through DTE counseling for IET DAVV in the first and second round, you can seize any lower branch and apply for Internal Branch Sliding.

Ques
What would be better: EC in SGSITS or CSE in IET DAVV?

● Top Answer By Jai Shrivastava on 12 Apr 21

Ans
If you are comparing Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science, and The Institute of Engineering & Technology, DAVV, then go for the former. IET DAVV has its own reputation but not better than SGSITS.  Here is the comparison between SGSITS and IET DAVV. Faculty: The educational qualification of SGSITS professors are PhD holders from, old IITs and IISC. And only a few IET DAVV professors have PhDs from IIT and IISC. Placement: SGSITS is one of the oldest colleges and thus has a good placement record. Its Alumni are also wider and good. That is why every department of students of SGSITS got placed including CSE and EC. Companies such as Adani, Aditya Birla, Adobe, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Deloitte, etc come for campus placement. On the other hand, IET DAVV also has decent placement. IET DAVV mostly has software companies as a recruiter. But its placement record is not better than SGSITS.  Campus and Student Life: IET DAVV has good campus and student life. It has a good cultural fest. While SGSITS has good technical fests.  Reputation and brand value: The reputation of SGSITS is better than IET DAVV and gives more brand value in a long run. IET DAVV is popular only in MP but SGSITS has a nationwide reputation.  Therefore, if you thinking to join SGSITS and IET DAVV, then choose EC from SGSITS. It has good faculty, placement record, and greater brand value which will help you in your career.

Ques
Which is better, NIT Raipur or SGSITS?

● Top Answer By Khushi Sen on 31 Mar 21

Ans
NIT Raipur is the Institute of National Importance(INI). It provides bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in engineering, technology, architecture, and basic sciences. Before 2011-12 there were only 39 NITs in the country but now there are 73 and almost all fall under the MHRD Accreditation. Major things you need to know about NIT Raipur: Education: You've to do it on your own. Yes, good faculty is there to help you in your studies but there will be no spoon-feeding like school. Infrastructure: Quite old but okay as now they're undergoing renovation, so many new facilities are available now. The campus runs to an area of about 100 acres. There are 8 hostels with more than 3000 students and each hostel has its own mess. Faculty: You will find many senior faculties arrogant and having old age mentality but some of them are very supportive and encouraging. Places to hang out: There are a lot of recreational activities here, you'll get to know them once you enroll here. Raipur is a very decent city with wonderful people. It also has a much lower crime rate according to recent times. As per my friends’ opinion, NIT Raipur would be a much better choice than SGSITS Indore.

Ques
Should I drop a year for SGSITS EC, if I am currently in UIT-RGPV EC?

● Top Answer By Diksha Sen on 20 Aug 21

Ans
One of my friends is from SGSITS, and Bhopal is her hometown. I know a few people from UIT RGPV too. Based on the conversations I had with them, I think I can answer your question.  From what I gathered, it doesn't really matter whether you're from GS or UIT. The only thing that matters is your future goals and where you see yourself 5 -10 years from now. whether you want to pursue an MBA, a Ph.D., or a career in technology. However, most of my friends, whether from SGSITS or UIT, work in the same company/profile, so there isn't much of a difference. Here are the recent placement highlights for the institutes.  Institutes  SGSITS  UIT  Average CTC  5 LPA  3 LPA  Highest CTC  44 LPA  8 LPA  Top recruiters  Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture Cognizant, Amazon, TCS At least take no stress and go for what is best for you. Now you know that there's no major difference and your decision should be accordingly.

Ques
Is there any management quota in IET DAVV or SGSITS?

● Top Answer By Namrita Ghose on 21 Apr 21

Ans
Neither IET DAVV and SGSITS have management quota seats.  IET DAVV: IET DAVV is a government-funded college so there is no management quota available and there is no other option to get direct admission into the college.  If you want to get admission to this college, then you have to appear for JEE exams and score a higher rank to be eligible for admission here.  You can also apply for college-level counseling for which you need a higher rank to get selected in this college.  SGSITS: SGSITS is a government-run college so there is no management quota too. This is one of the oldest and reputed colleges of Madhya Pradesh and to get admission you have to score very good marks in your JEE exams.  You can also apply for college-level counseling but for this, you need a higher JEE rank.  If you are from Madhya Pradesh itself, then you can increase your chances for admission by showing your MP domicile certificate.  Hope this helps.

Ques
Which college is better for CSE: IET DAVV, Indore or SGSITS, Indore?

● Top Answer By Sreemona Sengupta on 21 Apr 21

Ans
Both of them are very good colleges and are recognized and reputed colleges of our country, but there are certain aspects which make them different from each other and in this scenario, CSE at SGSITS will be much better than at IET DAVV. Here are the reasons.  Faculty: The faculty of SGSITS is very talented and experienced, and all of them have done PhD from IITs and IISC. This can be considered a big achievement and can be one of the major reasons to join SGSITS.  Campus Life: The campus life of SGSITS is very good and the technical fest is amazing. But the cultural fest of IET DAVV is very good too.  Placements: The placements of SGSITS are very good as its alumni network is very good which has resulted in good placements every year. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Microsoft, Deloitte, TCS, and many other top companies visit the campus every year and recruit many students. And the highest number of students recruited are from the CSE branch. Brand Value: As SGSITS is a very old institute and has produced remarkable results over the years, it is widely recognized by people and holds great value in the corporate world which can be much beneficial for your career, in securing higher packages. Overall, it is safe to say that SGSIT is a better alternative.
