The Indian Institute of Soil Science, also abbreviated as IISS, is one of the topmost institutes in India. It is an autonomous institute for higher learning which was established in the year 1988. It is situated in the heart of Madhya Pradesh i.e. Bhopal. It has been established under the approval of the Indian Council of Agriculture (ICAR) by the Ministry of Agriculture. It is also been authorized by the Government of India for advanced research in the field of soil sciences.
The Indian Institute of Soil Science has emerged as a leader in the field of basic and strategic research on soils in the country. It is one of the best institutions which provide young scientists.
