Quantum University Roorkee, established in 2008, offers a PhD program across various disciplines, such as Pharmacy, Computer Science and Engineering, Hospitality, Commerce, Management Studies, Agriculture, Economics, Nutrition & Dietetics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Physics, etc. Admission to the Ph.D program of Quantum University is based on the candidate’s performance in the QRAT examination conducted by the university. Quantum University Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission into the Ph.D program must have completed their Master’s degree in a relevant field with a minimum of 55% marks as an aggregate.

Quantum University Ph.D Admission Guidelines

Admission to the PhD course of Quantum University is offered on the basis of the candidate’s performance in The Quantum University Research Aptitude Test (QRAT), followed by an interview round. UGC-CSIR NET, SLET qualified applicants are exempt from appearing in the QRAT.

Quantum University Ph.D Course Details

The PhD program is offered across various discipline, students can pursue their research work in the following disciplines:

Pharmacy, Computer Science & Engineering, Hospitality, Commerce, Management Studies, Agriculture, Economics, Nutrition & Dietetics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science, Education, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, and English.

The Ph.D. program shall be for a minimum duration of 3 years and a maximum duration of not more than 6 years, including coursework. Under exceptional circumstances, the maximum 6-year limit to submit the research thesis can be extended by the Vice-Chancellor on request from the research scholar and recommendation by the Subject Research Committee (SRC) by a period of not more than one year.

Women candidates and persons with disabilities are allowed a relaxation of 2 years in addition to the maximum six-year period for the Ph.D. Program. Furthermore, women candidates shall be provided with a one-time Maternity/ Child Care leave of up to 240 days during the Ph.D. Period.

Quantum University Ph.D Entrance Exam Pattern

The Quantum University Research Attitude Test judges an applicant on the basis of their quantitative, analytical, language, and research skills as well as subject knowledge. Quantum University PhD admission test will be held in the Pen and Paper mode at the designated university center. Highlights of the entrance examination is given in the table below:

How are the placements in Quantum University?

My friend from school used to be a student of Quantum University. She completed her MBA in finance and secured a lucrative job at Yes Bank with a package of 10 LPA.

Students even get placed in companies like Mahindra, Emson, Genpact, Oracle, Vivo, and Flipkart with packages even higher.

The campus is visited by a number of big names for the purpose of offering jobs to its students.

The highest package that was offered was as high as 14 LPA.
The alumni network of Quantum University is pretty extensive but only in India, unfortunately. The same cannot be said about the alumni network in the case of overseas.
More than 130 companies visit the campus for granting placement. The reason for such renown is because the university boasts of a placement record of 100% which it owes to its quality of education which is high and strong industry interface.

The Assured Placements MBA Program, or (APMP) has recently been started by the university which assures that the students are placed in jobs at the time of completion of their course.

Is Sharda University better than Quantum University?

Sharda University is a private university situated in Greater Noida, established in the year 2009. The college has been accredited with NAAC ‘B’ grade. The college is home to 13 schools that offer a total of 281 courses across 17 streams. It has 250+ global tie-ups with various institutions and organizations. The college has 13000+ seats across all courses.

Quantum University is a private university situated in Roorkee, established in the year 2017. The college has been approved by UGC and ranked 60th and 73rd for MBA and Engineering respectively by Times. The college offers 113 courses across 14 streams.

Admission Procedure

Sharda University: The eligibility criteria for seeking admission to the college are marks obtained in 10+2 examinations/ undergraduate level, scores in the national level exam (JEE, CAT, XAT, etc.), and scores in SUAT, the common entrance exam conducted by Sharda University. After verification of documents, students are called for the GD & PI round.
Quantum University: The eligibility criteria for seeking admission to the college are marks obtained in 10+2 examinations/ undergraduate level. Further, students are shortlisted on the basis of a common entrance exam conducted by the college or national level entrance exam (JEE, CAT, XAT) scores. For some courses, the PI round is taken.

Infrastructure & Facilities

Sharda: The college is built over a humongous 63-acre campus. The college is home to a number of cafeterias and fast-food restaurants. The college also has a well-equipped library, on-campus hostels, laboratories, sports facilities, a convenience store, and a gym. The college also runs a shuttle service for its students.
Quantum: The college is built over a large 30-acre campus. The college has a well-maintained library, cafeterias, and sports facilities. The college has on-campus hostels for both boys and girls. Other facilities such as Wi-Fi, auditorium, gym, and shuttle services are also provided.

Placements

Sharda: Over 350 recruiters come on campus for recruitment including Amazon, American Express, Pepsi, Cognizant, and many others. MBA and B.Tech have a high placement rate of 100% and 90% respectively. The highest package for 2019 was 10LPA.
Quantum: The college has an 85% placement rate with over 650 students placed. Companies such as Yes Bank, KPIT, and Tech Mahindra are invited for placements. The average package offered at the college is 3.5LPA, with the highest package going up to a whopping 18LPA.

Sharda University offers a larger variety of courses and a much larger campus. Quantum, on the other hand, has a great placement cell with students getting packages over 10LPA. Both colleges are well-known private universities and a choice between the two depends on one’s personal preferences such as location, fees, and facility preferences.
