Advantages: KLE Technological University is an autonomous university so it has an edge over VTU or any other educational body. The infrastructure is very beautiful and spacious. Life at the college campus is completely enjoyable. There are also various sports and cultural events held at the campus. This university focuses more on practical-based learning rather than relying on old-school methods or more bookish learning. The students are assigned to make projects from the 1st semester itself. The coding culture of this college is very good and it also has a start-up culture. New ideas by students are appreciated and encouraged. There is also a UPSC training block inside the campus. It provides coaching to the students who want to prepare for IAS/IPS exams. Disadvantages: This university is located at Hubli, so there will be a lack of opportunities for the students to visit the industrial sites. Most of the students studying here think that engineering is easy and thus they are not focused on their studies. This affects the competitive environment and makes the students careless. The seniors are not cooperative. The placements are mediocre. Companies that participate in the placement drive are mass recruiters like TCS or IBM. They generally offer students lower packages. Therefore, if you are looking to opt for any branch in MIT, go for it as it will always be a great option. Yes, KLE Tech University is indeed a good choice. Both in terms of education and placement. As far as the teaching factor is concerned, KLE is alright. There will be times when you would have to go through a great part of your syllabus on your own, but eventually, you will manage to get through it. The maximum number of companies that show up for recruitment is from the Computer Science department. For the academic year 2920, the highest CTC offered to the students was 30 LPA. Major recruiters to visit the campus were IBM, TCS, Infosys, SAP labs, etc. Keep your academic records good and you should be safe during placements. The CSE department of JSSTE is accredited by NBA and has been collaborating with many reputed research institutes and IT industries. They provide a conducive environment to carry out research and education together. The department at three of these engineering colleges can be characterized by faculty staff, laboratories, and placements. Faculty The faculty members of JSSATE and NITTE Meenakshi University are better than BVBCET. The professors are actively involved in research paper publication in many national and international journals and conduct hands-on training programs and workshops every year. More than 30 faculties are there and most of them hold Ph.D. degrees along with research in different areas of IT and computer science. Infrastructure The computer science laboratories at NITEE Meenakshi university are far better than the BVBCET and JASSATE.  They have 12 state-of-the-art laboratories and all are well equipped with WiFi internet connection and the computers are installed with necessary application software.  Admission criteria All these universities conducted entrance examinations for admission. Top recruiters at the college are Amazon, Microsoft, Samsung, Infosys and SAP Labs.  The median salary offered is 4LPA, while the average salary package offered is approximately 4.5LPA.  The highest package offered went up to a whopping 29 LPA. NMAMIT: The course at the college has a placement rate of 90%. Top recruiters at the college are Sony, Accenture, Oracle, Bosch and Infosys.  The minimum salary offered is 3.5 LPA, while the average salary package offered is approximately 4 LPA.  The highest package offered went up to 18 LPA. Both colleges stand toe-to-toe with one another in terms of all major parameters. Better infrastructure and facilities further boost NMAMIT against KLE. The placements at the institutions are similar, while KLE takes a slight edge with their highest package being much greater than NMAMIT. A decision between the two colleges would likely be dependent on the weight given to each parameter by the student.

One can easily change the branch from Mechanical to ECE at the university. Students must score well in their first year to be eligible for shifting branches. However, it totally depends upon the number of seats remaining in the Department. It is advised to preferably change the branch in the first/third semester, otherwise, it will be difficult to cope with subjects. Requirements for Branch Changes The student may change from Mechanical to ECE in the following ways: If round 2 and 3 of counseling isn’t over, students can attend the counseling to seek admission to ECE if there are any seats left. If you are eligible for ECE in the 2nd/3rd round you may change your course. However, if counseling is over you will have to study Mechanical Engineering for the first year. In your second year, you may apply for branch conversion. One must secure more than 8.5 CGPA in their first year to be eligible for it. Seats are vacated in the second year due to others dropping out, getting a back or branch conversion. You will have to score as high depending on the number of seats available.  Although, you can consider pursuing Mechanical Engineering as it is a much better option than ECE until and unless you have some specific reason to change the branch.
