Birla Institute of Technology BIT, established in the year 1997 is a technological institute located at Lalpur, Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand.

At the UG Level, BIT Lalpur offers BBA and BCA program. At the PG level, the college offers MCA, MBA, and M.Sc. program.

Applications are to be filled and submitted online in addition to the printed copy has to be submitted to the college office.
Candidates applying for BBA and BCA should have passed 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognized board are considered eligible for admission.
Admission to BBA and BCA is done on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination.
Candidates applying for MBA should have passed 10+2+3 with a minimum of 50% aggregate in any relevant stream from a recognized university are considered eligible for admission.
Admission to MBA is done on the basis of valid score in CMAT/ CAT/ XAT/ MAT.
For MCA, candidates should have passed BBA program with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks from a recognized university listed under UGC/AIU.
Admission to MCA is done on the basis of BIT MCA conducted by the Institution.
For M.Sc., candidates should have passed B.Sc. degree with a minimum aggregate of 55% marks are considered eligible for admission.
Admission to the M.Sc. is done on the basis of marks secured in qualifying examination.

BIT Lalpur BBA and BCA Admission 2023

Birla Institute of Technology offers BBA and BCA at the UG level with 50 seats in each respectively.

The basic eligibility for BBA and BCA is minimum 50% aggregate marks in 10+2 examination in any stream with English subject in qualifying examination.

Admission to BBA and BCA is granted on the basis of merit secured in the qualifying 10+2 examination.

Key Points:

For BCA, Candidates should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in either of Mathematics/Computer Science/Information Practices in addition to English as the subject in qualifying examination.
SC/ST candidates are provided relaxation of 5% marks in all UG programs.
The maximum age of candidate for General Category should be 21 years as on October.
The maximum age of candidates for SC/ST should be 26 years as on October.

BIT Lalpur MBA, MCA and M.Sc. Admission 2023

Birla Institute of Technology offers MBA, MCA and M.Sc. at the PG level. The eligibility criteria for admission to MBA is minimum 50% marks in Bachelor’s degree in any stream. For MCA, candidates must have qualified with minimum 55% marks in 10+2 examination with either Mathematics/Computer Science/Information Practices as a subject of study. For M.Sc., candidates must have passed B.Sc. degree with 55% aggregate marks from a recognized university listed under UGC/AIU.

Admissions to MBA is done on the valid score secured in CMAT /CAT/XAT/MAT followed by GD/PI. For M.Sc. admission are granted on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination. For MCA, admission is granted on the basis of valid score obtained in BIT MCA and counselling conducted by the institute.

Candidates appearing for final examinations can also apply for the program.
Candidates who have acquired qualification through correspondence or distance program should have passed Bachelor’s degree from DEC-IGNOU.
Students who hold B.Sc. /BA (honours) with 55% aggregate marks are also eligible for the program.
For selection in MBA program, the minimum preference for CAT, XAT and CMAT percentile is 40% and overall marks for MAT is 320 for General Category.
For SC/ST category, the minimum preference for CAT, XAT and CMAT percentile is 35% and overall marks for MAT is 280.
Admission to M.Sc. program is available only for Girl candidates.
For MCA, candidates who hold qualifications in BCA, B.Sc. in IT/Electronics/Computer Science or B.Sc. in Mathematics/Statistics can also apply.

BIT Lalpur Application Process 2023

Candidates can fill the application form for all UG and PG program offered by the college through online mode. Applicants need to register for the National Level examination from the respective website of the conducting body.

How to Apply

Visit the official website of the college and click on the link “Apply Online”.
Create Username and Password and select the course.
Select the wanted preference of centres.
Fill the application form and submit it online.
Pay application fee of INR 2500 for General/OBC category and INR 1500 for SC/ST candidates through SBI net banking or card in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology”.
Download and print the fully filled application form.
Send the completed form with required enclosures in A4 size envelope by Speed post/courier to the office at the following address:

BIT - A whole chapter

What I Liked

I liked that the faculties here are very supportive and try their best to make us understand the concepts easily.also, the placement drive heads and faculties also make us aware of what is currently going on in the placement drives .
Also, dean mam of our college is so humble towards us. We can explore the collage by taking part into various societies based on our personal interests . infrastructure of the collage is also good as it contains air conditioned libraries and comp lab
I'm engaged in NGO run by our college named drishti. The social life of our several platforms are linked across various other platforms outside the collage which enables us to learn more from others and also to help others.

What I didn’t like

The thing that I disliked about my college is that it doesn't have a well to do campus.like there must be canteens in the campus and also , the campus area is quite large.if the building and parkings can be developed then the land can be utilised god
The other one is that the teaching hours for BCA ,BBA courses are only for 4 hours which make it difficult to cover such vast syllabus.
Other course should also have to provide here like btech , pharmacy, and several branches of btech.

Remarks:

The students who have maths in their 11th 12th and comes from cs background can apply for the BCA .also, the students of bio field can apply because this course ,ie BCA, and the other undergraduate course BBA is not taken any entrance exam. It selects based on the 12th result of the student.there are 2or 3 lists come after filling the admission application form and the students who have high cutoff gets selected in serial wisecas their names and form no. Comes to the list. You can apply online for the form after your 12th results As I know there js no reservation benefits during the admission. Also, the field in which they have to improve is the interaction class held just after coming the admission list as there is quite difficult to understand it during my interaction. The 2nd and 3rd floor is not air conditioned but only the first floor and all staff rooms are .

A non biased review on BIT Lalpur

What I Liked

The classrooms are non co-ed in my course so it's easy for students who don't talk much to opposite gender to get comfortable.
Well Maintained classrooms with Air conditioner, well equipped and clean labs, clean washrooms, library with a wide range of books.
Faculties are with great experience, they teach with interest and involvement, give notes, every faculty is a PhD scholar.

What I didn’t like

The campus is not very big, it only has two buildings with no multipurpose halls.
The parking area is large but not very good, it is filled with stones and bricks and the guard doesn't lets us sit there even for 5 minutes.
Not very happy with the lift service as we have to climb stairs to go on the third floor, there are two lifts but they only let the teachers use it.

Remarks:

Students must have scored 65%+ in class 12th to be eligible for bba. The application form is available on the bit mesra official site, the application fees at my was 1500 and the dates are extended many time, there are special rounds also. I am an OBC candidate and I scored 85.8% in my 12th boards. I got some benifits of being an OBC candidate during selection. The admission doesn't requires any entrance test as it is merit based.

BIT Mesra is the main campus situated in Mesra, Ranchi. The Lalpur campus is an extension that deals with several other selected courses like BCA, MCA, MIT, MBA, IMCA and IMBA. The Lalpur campus is located at the Lalpur Chowk, Ranchi.

BIT Lalpur is an extended campus of BIT Mesra. It offers only a selected course. In Undergraduate program Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), and in Postgraduate Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Application (MCA), M.Sc degrees are offered.

Therefore, both the campuses are different from each other located at different locations. Both of them have their own recruiters and placement cell.
