If you have a choice between IIIT Vadodara and any other well-established NIT or IIIT for a Btech in CSE/IT, you should go for the latter as IIIT Vadodara lacks proper infrastructure and resources. However, studying B.tech in CSE at IIIT Vadodara is a rigorous course that offers different course content from other colleges, making students good engineers. The professors put in equal amounts of hard work to deliver their content in a professional manner, and there are ample resources available online for students.  IIIT Vadodara is a good option as it provides exposure to both theory and industrial practice, and the institute has improved immensely. The placements are also getting better, with tech giants recognizing IIIT Vadodara and aiding in projects through developer student clubs and Mozilla student club

IIIT Vadodara is an Institute of National Importance. This is a tag for which one should compromise certain facilities and take admission here. Negative factors: The college does not have a permanent campus or hostel and does not expect to have it in near future. The land allotted by the government for building the permanent campus was farmland.  A court case was going on regarding the land issue so the students don't know if it is solved or not. Every new batch of the college is assured that they shall be shifted to permanent campus at least in their final year.  Ironically, the student doesn't know if the construction of the permanent campus has yet started or not. The new hostel is about 32 km away from this institute campus. The hostel is in a remote place and everything including the hospital, railway station, etc. is too far from there. The hostel is mandatory for all, so no student from the next intake shall be allowed to stay on his or her own. Hostel facilities are Room on a 3/4 sharing basis, Common bathrooms, Cafeteria, Stationery Shop, Playground, Emergency Vehicle. The students have a lot of complaints against the administration, especially the registrar. The administration says that they don’t have enough funds for all the stuff that we require. No one knows where all the money goes. Positive factors: One might not get a lot of fun stuff in this college, but if your goal is to be a good Computer Science Engineer at the end of four years then this is the place. One does not need all the high tech types of equipment which are required in other branches.  The student has nothing to do with all the facilities but IIITV has sufficient stuff to fulfil one academic need. Currently, IIIT-V only offers CSE & IT courses because of this, it is a good choice for those who aspire to strictly go for the computer branch. College also has several amazing clubs and committees that organise several events from time to time. Even though travel time from hostel to institute and back is too much, one can easily constructively utilise this time. Overall, no matter where students go, it completely depends on the students to get the best out of it.

As you will be spending 4 precious years of your life, it becomes very important to know both the bright and shady sides before choosing it. One of my friends is currently studying at IIIT Vadodara and here are some key highlights according to his first-hand experience. PROS: Responsible Faculty: You will be taught by intellectual teachers and professors. All the teaching and assistant staff are very helpful and are always there for your betterment.  Cooperative Seniors: You will be surrounded by a bunch of talented and helpful seniors. My friend’s seniors were very friendly and always guided them on little tips and mistakes to avoid. Campus culture: You will be given ample opportunities for showing creativity and talent through coding activities and other extracurricular activities. You can participate in ample clubs and their events like logical thinking, treasure hunt, mathematics, and other fun events. CONS: No permanent campus: Yes, there is no permanent campus constructed yet. The reason behind this is that the land allotted for the college campus is disputed farmland. Thus, the institute is currently running in Government Engineering College, Gandhinagar. Hostel: Thenew hostel is about 32 km away from the temporary campus and is located in a remote place. You will be facing problems regarding traveling, medical facilities, etc. You will be allotted 3-4 occupancy rooms with rudimentary facilities. In addition, a hostel is mandatory for all, you aren't allowed to arrange accommodation by yourself. Overall, there will be no compromise with the quality of education and company at IIIT Vadodara. However, the lack of campus and underwhelming hostels can be a big issue for many of you.

The placements of IIIT Vadodara have drastically improved with time, and a lot of improvement is seen in the last few years in respect of companies visiting the campus and packages offered by them. After the arrival of Jyoti Ma’am as the commanding placement officer, there are immediate changes in the SPC and placements. The maximum of 12 LPA seems to be not that satisfactory as the highest package offered to CS graduates, but for IIIT Vadodara, this is the first proper placement session after the formation of the new committee. The placement cell is quite cooperative to students and helps them regarding every placement-related issue. Overall, considering the first placement session from a new committee, it can be considered to have a bright future ahead.

Direct communication cannot be compared but one of my friends suggested that IIIT Vadodara is an older institute in comparison to the others. The placement officer of IIIT V is good and will be helping in getting good placements by calling good companies to the campus. The college also sends for internships in companies like Amazon. Some of the students also got selected in Google Summer of code. This college has no relation with NIT Hamirpur which makes it a bit risky.  IIIT Sonepat is much better in terms of placement. The reason is that the companies find it much closer in distance as compared to other institutions. It can be suggested that you first check admission at IIIT Sonepat then at IIIT Vadodara and then go for IIIT Una.  It is always suggested to look for more information from the old alumni IIIT V as they will better tell you about the past placements.

IIIT Pune would be a better option than IIIT Vadodara as it gives better exposure and has a decent placement record.  One of my relatives studies there, and it gives the idea about the college very well. However, the college is newly settled and not as old as other IIIT. It is growing and improving and in upcoming years it may become the top college in Maharashtra. One of my friends studying at IIIT Vadodara said that the Placement cell is really hardworking and dedicated towards a student's future. The placement statistics are improving every year. IIIT Vadodara witnessed all the registered students of B.Tech get placed. They have a 100% placement record. A huge hike in the average package was seen with more than 11 lakhs per annum. The college received over 8 international offers from across 30 companies. The companies offered jobs in various fields like software engineering, research and development, and associate data scientist, etc. Some of the top visiting companies include Adobe, Mathworks, Amazon, Samsung, Maq software, Intel, etc. They also offered 3rd-year B.Tech students a 2 months summer internship. This really helps students in getting pre-placement offers (PPOs) from the companies. Some of my friends studied CSE from SGSITS, so I might be able to share some details about SGSITS. But I can provide the basic information of IIIT Vadodara, as I am not very familiar with the college. The CSE department at SGSITS is about 30 years old. The student intake of the CSE department is 90. Most of the students of the general category are MPPET toppers. The HOD, Professor Mehta is considered to be the best Operating Systems teacher in India. At IIIT Vadodara, you will get to learn coding from scratch. It will be helpful for those who do not come from a CSE background. At IIIT Vadodara you will get the IIIT tag, which could prove to be valuable during interviews, but not always. They also offer deserving candidates internship opportunities, during their 3rd year. Ultimately it is your choice and priority that will help you decide which college to get admitted in.

IIIT Vadodara should be your preference. It has an excellent placement record along with a top-notch coding culture. The no of GSoC selections is at an all-time high. Students of the institute are actively engaging in competitive coding.   IIIT Vadodara placements 2021 concluded with the highest CTC of INR 43.5 LPA. The average CTC offered was INR 11.53 LPA. Amazon, ICICI Bank, Mathworks, Code Nation, etc. are the major recruiters for the institute. 

Among the given choices IIIT Vadodara will be a good choice for you. This is a much old institution. The college provides better opportunities to learn and better placements to their students. Whereas, CE was introduced only a few years back at PDPU. Here are some of the reasons why you should choose IIIT Vadodara. Coding Culture: IIIT Vadodara has got better coding culture. In past, students of this college have perticia[ated in GSOC, ACM ICPC and brought good results. Placements: The placement statistics of IIIT Vadodara for the CSE branch are also quite impressive. Here is a brief highlight of the same. Placement percentage 100% Total number of offers received 73 Highest CTC offered INR 43.5 LPA. Average CTC offered INR 13 LPA. Top recruiters Amazon, MathWorks, ICICI Bank As IIIT Vadodara does not have a permanent campus yet, the campus life at PDPU will be comparably better. However, if we consider all other options then IIIT Vadodara is definitely ahead of PDPU.
