I was always interested in the field of chemistry and since cotton university is one of the finest colleges in Assam so I decided to do my graduation in chemistry from Cotton University. Also, many of our school seniors passed from here with great placement benefits. the faculty-student ratio is satisfactory in almost every department while certain needs of faculty are seen in some of the newly established departments but the college authority somehow managed to provide better education to students by appointing guest faculties. teaching methods are very understanding and interesting and we never get bored with class. Also, the teachers are highly qualified. Exams are seasonally followed by finals every semester. And if you sincerely attend all the lectures there is no fear of failing the test
Read Full ReviewI chose this course because of my interest and I also did my bachelor's in economics. I mostly prefer economics in a more quantitative nature. This course taught me some of the intermediate and advanced concepts of the usual economics papers. I also had some specialization papers like Econometric Methods and Advanced Quantitative Techniques. The faculty-Student ratio is about 10:54 or 5:27. Manisha Sharma is our Head of the Department. Most of the professors are having Ph.D. from Gauhati University and IIT Guwahati and some are still pursuing. I like the overall teaching method of the faculty. However, I do have to mention Dr. Gataun Mazumdar who is excellent at interacting with the students and always use to give some real-world examples whenever he used to teach us. He is specialized in Macroeconomics and has a Ph.D. degree from Amsterdam. The exams are usually held on time but due to the covid situation, the exams were a bit late. The paper level was quite moderate.
Read Full ReviewI wanted to choose statistics from the beginning as this subject has a large scope. Our faculty members including the teachers are very helpful, friendly, and motivating. They guide us through everything and show us a path.
Read Full ReviewI have always had an interest in computer science and had a bit of expert course experience beforehand joining the course faculty to student ratio is quite good as there is around 1 teacher per 10 students all the professors here are quite qualified for their position with all of them being Ph.D. holders and a few with a post-doc too, there's an exam in around every two months and I would say the level of the exam is intermediate here.
Read Full ReviewTo be honest, the Botany Department of our University, our department according to to be is the most peaceful on the entire campus. It is because the faculty is very good and supportive. All the professors and Assistant Professors are highly educated with doctorate degrees from reputed Universities and they are well-experienced in their field. It feels nice to be with them on my journey. They are good mentors. They show proper manners when they are with their students. Very well disciplined. And secondly, our department is a little away from the main campus and it is situated in a beautiful scenario. The department has a garden with so many flowers and botanical plants which makes it unique on its own. Better to visit our department during winter. Too beautiful! And lastly, about the term exams, we give 3 semesters in a year. Thats upsetting! But it has its significance. But as it is a govt. Institute you can't expect more resources from the department.
Read Full ReviewAs i am doing BA in Hindi. The teachers are very good, friendly and always ready to help us. In every semester exams will be conducted twice time one is the mid-term exam and the last is the final exam. It's not hard to get pass an exam.
Read Full ReviewPolitical Science is the most sought-after course in the uni. I chose it because of the wide variety of scopes that it has. The diversity in political science is very intriguing, you get to study and then make a decision on your further plans because there are options, one way or the other. Girl students are more in number. The faculty is very friendly and caring, and they'll make you feel at home. All the professors are highly qualified, most of them have done masters and Ph.D. from JNU or research from abroad. They've their own styles of teaching. Classes are very interactive, and insightful and more focus is given to debates, dialogues, and discussions. Mid-term exams take place after 2 months since college starts. End-term exams are basically in January. Exams aren't that difficult to pass, only 8/9 marks are required to pass the mid-term. However, sufficient attendance is required to be qualified for the exams. Passing the mid-term is compulsory to be qualified for the end term.
