Course Description

GLA is one of the leading private universities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The university currently offers doctoral programs in 15 streams.

GLA University offers Ph.D. programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering, Management, Natural Sciences, Law, Education, and English.
The basic eligibility for these Ph.D. courses is 55% marks in a Master's level course. For some programs, the minimum marks required is 60%.

GLA University Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

The rudimentary requirement to be eligible for various Ph.D. courses of GLA University is having a Master's degree in a relevant discipline.

For Ph.D. in Biotechnology and Immunology, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English, the minimum marks requirement is 55%. However, for all other Ph.D. courses, at least 60% marks in the Master's level is mandatory.

Additionally, students need to qualify either the Ph.D. entrance test of GLA University or standardized tests conducted by various central bodies such as UGC or CSIR.

The admission to the Ph.D. courses of GLA university is done through an entrance test followed by a personal interview. The admission process can be completed both online and offline.

GLA University Ph.D. Course Details

Prospective doctoral students of GLA University can choose from 15 streams. A minimum of three years is required for the successful completion of the Ph.D. degree. Students are also free to apply for extensions if required.

Students who have qualified for a national level Ph.D. eligibility examination are eligible for scholarships from various central bodies.

Students who do not have a central fellowship, are eligible for a Teaching Assistantship grant of INR 25,000 per month. The amount of the grant is the same for all disciplines.

Ques. Does GLA University provide hostel facilities for Ph.D. students?

Ans. Yes, GLA University does provide residential hostel facilities to all students. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. There are two departmental stores to cater to all the needs of the university. The campus is also equipped with round the clock security services.

Ques. Does GLA University has a transportation facility to travel from nearby localities?

Ans. Yes, students of GLA University can take advantage of the various bus services provided by the university to easily reach the campus. During the regular academic session, bus services are available from Mathura, Vrindavan, Mant, and various other locations. The fees for the same vary between 18,500-23,500.

Ans. No. While most other private universities in the country have a separate management quota that allows admission outside the merit list, GLA University does not offer any such quota. The only two quotas at the university are the General Quota and the Foreign/NRI quota.

Try to prepare for admission in government colleges rather than private colleges. My cousin used to be a student of PSIT Kanpur and as per his experience, private colleges always are always charging higher fees without giving proper exposure in return. The amount of total fee charged for the programs is more than the packages granted by the companies that visit the campus during placements. You should refrain from seeking admission to PSIT because the output from their end is zero. GLA Mathura, on the other hand, despite being a private university is better than PSIT Kanpur. It is not only one of the best private universities in Uttar Pradesh, but in India as well. It also boasts of promising placements in every department.
