Established in 1987 in a green 75 acre, semi urban setting Tripura University located at Suryamaninagar. With the academic activities, research, innovation & placement records the university has been accredited Grade 'B' by NAAC. The highly qualified & dynamic faculty members' always help the students and give proper guidance. The university has ranked 151 out of 200 colleges in the overall category by NIRF, 2020.

The institution is approved by UGC and under its affiliation there are 46 colleges. Among them 27 general degree colleges, 17 processional colleges, 4 paramedical & nursing colleges and 2 medical colleges. Apart from regular, campus based, full time programs the university provides distance education programs too.

Tripura University Admission Process 2023

The university offers several courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level along with some integrated and diploma courses. Seeking admission in any of these courses students must follow some steps:

Students must visit the official website of Tripura University.
After opening the website, students must click on ‘Admission tab'.
A new window will open and click on the given tab ‘Online Admission 2023-2024’.
Students need to register themselves with a valid email id.
After that click on ‘Go to Online Application Form’.
A password will be sent to the login email address.
Login to the account and fill all the academic and personal details carefully.
The required documents are needed to be attached and submitted.
The required application fees must be paid by online payment (INR 800 for general category students and INR 600 for reserved categories)

Tripura University offers several Scholarship facilities for the meritorious, financially poor and reserved category students. Some of the scholarships are described below:

Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for ST, Tripura: This assistant is for students who are in class 11 to post-graduation level at a recognised Indian institution and the annual family income should not exceed INR 2 LPA.
Post Matric Scholarships Scheme for SC, Tripura: The scheme is for the students studying in class 11 to post-graduation level. The eligibility criteria is, students must have passed class 10+2 level and the annual income of the family should be less than INR 2.5 LPA.
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for EBC, Tripura: The aid is for the students who are pursuing studies at the post-matriculation level (class 11 to postdoctoral level) can apply for this scholarship. The annual income of the family should be less than INR 1 LPA.

Library: The central library of the university has a strength of 250 students at a time and while building is wifi enabled. The library is well equipped and well versed with the print books, print Journals, CD/DVDs, Thesis/Dissertation, reports, newspapers, e-journals and e-books into it. The users of the library have access to more than 30,000 e-books, 14 online databases through e-ShodhSindhu.
Hostel: The university have 24*7 internet connection and fully computerized. The facility comes with the capacity of 60 & 110 seats for both girls and boys. 50 seats are allotted for the research scholars. The hostel has common rooms, TV and mess facilities.
Games & Sports: Every year various games & sports events are conducted by Tripura University Sports Board. On the Annual Sports Day various outdoor sports like football, volleyball, Kabaddi and cricket etc are being organised by the university and Indoor games such as Table Tennis, Carom and chess etc competitions are held. Every year the sports board organizes Inter College Tournaments in various outdoor & indoor game categories such as football, cricket, volleyball, Judo, Table Tennis and athletics among the different affiliated colleges under Tripura University.
